Should I throw the batch out?

First off. Hello again. Been a few years. Secondly, I made a batch of hot sauce about a month ago. Ph is at 4.2/4.3, but it's just been sitting in Tupperware in the fridge (at 34-36 degrees). Is it too late to can? I've got a bunch more peppers to be harvested so won't be a total loss, just...

Need some serious help, what have I done?

Firstly, hello again. Secondly, wow. Peppers are looking terrible. Aphids early, and now what looks like a combo of too wet and over fertilizing. I planted as last year in basic fafards, but, in hindsight like a fool, did what i thought was a very light application of an 8-5-5 (half recommended...

    Anyone can their hot sauce?

I know it isn't necessary if the pH is low enough. I can't ferment because I lack the free fridge space, and was wondering if I were to can the hot sauce if it would last longer and that the flavors could blend better?

    Pep ID: Hot Red Lantern??

ordered seeds off ebay labelled "Jamaican Hot Red Lantern." The peppers grow and ripen upright, and look like slightly gnarled red cherries. Pics below. Has anyone heard of/grown this variety or does it look like something else? Also, if anyone does know anything, is this a good hot sauce...

Wow, got a good workout in today....

Transplanted, by myself, a 6.5 foot tall black krim tomato from a 20 gallon container to a 30 gallon container. Took me a good while, and it thoroughly sucked. Somehow I managed to get it done with only slightly damaging the root ball, maybe 5% of it. If anyone else needs to do this, I found...

Anyone ever use Triple Action Plus II?...

A couple of my tomatoes are showing signs of stress. I checked and found mites, a few aphids, and the inevitable yellow fungus problem. Also, one of my choc habs is being chewed up by what I believe are leaf hoppers. So, I happened across this product...

Apartment garden war, (mercy, sweet mercy)

I'll try to make this as brief as possible. Last summer I planted a container garden behind my apartment. This summer I planted another one, same apartment, but increased the container garden's size. The grass behind my spot is dead, so I thought it'd be no big deal, if anything I am covering up...

I needed rain, but good grief.....

Been in bad need of rain here for about 2 months. Well, it's stormed pretty heavily twice the past few weeks, snapped a few branches, and my tomatillos are toast. Looking at the ten day I am wondering if I should be concerned about it being too wet for my peppers. Good thing I held off on...

Found a horn worm this morning!

Anyone else love these things? I just can't help but admire its sea green coloration, with those cool stripes. Not to mention that badass horn! Truly a beautiful creature. I played with it for a while and fed it some tomato leaves from my hand. Then, very carefully, I placed him deep inside some...

pics Couple more questions on foliar spraying...(PICS ADDED)

I have been mixing cal mag in a 1 liter capacity spray bottle at the recommended strength with tap water, spraying once a week at night time, and am seeing no improvement to my bubbly curled leaves. I am also liquid feeding cal mag coupled w/ neptune's harvest fish/seaweed 2-3-1 once a week (tap...

    Best time(s) to foliar spray?

I have read where foliar spraying during the day is bad for two reasons: 1) The holes on the leaf (spores? stomata? Sorry, brainfart) will be closed to prevent water loss, hence they will not absorb the nutrients 2) although possibly a myth, water and strong sunlight can damage the leaves It...

Anyone got any tips for potting up a large tomato plant?...

Black Krim is already over the 5 foot mark, I thought it would top out at 6, looks like it might be closer to 7 feet. It is currently in a 20 inch container, I believe I am going to need to pot it up to at least a 24 inch. So, anyone have any insight? Don't want to rip the plant from the roots...

    misc Ladybugs from Amazon.com = awful!...March Biological = A+++++++

I ordered 4,500 ladybugs from Amazon, sold by Amazon. They arrived 2 days late. I am estimating the death toll is at least 80%, probably closer to 95% but I am not going to sort through the thousands of dead lady bugs under my plants to get an exact number. I released them the day I got em...

Black Krim, Cherokee purple not setting fruit....

I am growing 5 different tomatoes in containers - cherokee purple, black krim, red pear, pink brandywine and sweet 100 cherry. They were all planted in the same mediums, ferts, and on the same watering schedule. All are about the same size, except for the brandywine which was a late add. All but...

Got some unknown bug eggs on my young okra...

It is difficult to get a pic because they are so small. They are all over my young okra, on the stalks and under the leaves. They aren't clustered and look like they were laid at random. They are tiny, perfectly clear, round eggs. If you didn't know you were looking at eggs you would think you...

What is a good calcium fert?

My habs' leaves are beginning to look curly and bubbly at the top. Good healthy color, so I figure they need more calcium as the other chilis look fine and are in the exact same soil/soil addition set ups. I just surface dressed around one with tomato tone to see if that helps, but am looking...
