for-sale Sale of established plants - Beecroft, Sydney (Australia)

I have decided to down-size my (established) plant collection.  However, some of these peppers are far too hot to give away to friends and family, so I am looking for people who actually know what these plants are, and would want them.   I have listed these plants on eBay, and hope people in...

    Imposters?

WG I think that if they are peppers then they will be Scot Bons (pretty sure that that soil has not been used for any other peppers before) - so the question is are they peppers or not? :O) If they are peppers then I'll keep them and see - if not I'll '86' (I googled it) them!! Thanks M

    Sticky problem ...

This might be old news, but I'll share in case it is not. I had a 'light' aphid infestation. I didn't want to spray and the buggers were hiding in the delicate leaves near the crown of the plant. The solution that worked well - getting the aphids and not damaging the plant was 'magic tape'...

    Hawaii & the humble chilli

Just a theoretical question: > Does anyone know if there is a prohibition on importing chilli seeds (and growing chilli plants from those seeds) in Hawaii? If so, is there a list of prohibited chilli types? I found this link and no sign of peppers: http://hawaii.gov/hdoa/pi/pq/plants/...

    Calcium for plants

Good question - a tea spoon would be about right-ish, but will depend on how 'fluffy' your powder is. Again, you might want to gradually ramp it up, just to be on the safe side. Therefore maybe add a quarter of a teaspoon to start with??

    Calcium for plants

Nice work! I'd be tempted to follow the instruction is foli-cal, i.e.: http://www.montereyl...foli_cal_02.pdf Foli-cal concentrate says it has 10% Calcium (mass ratio of about 40). Therefore, this equates to 10g of 'calcium' in 100 ml of water. Since you have 'calcium acetate' (mass ratio of...

    Calcium for plants

Just looked up dolomite on the internet - seems to contain 'calcium magnesium carbonate' (see: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dolomite) Therefore, you will be adding one magnesium to every calcium. Provided that you want magnesium as well as calcium then that should be fine. Wikipedia states...

    Calcium for plants

kishke - gloves are good, but make sure you look after your eyes!!!!!! Personally, I'd steer clear of the glacial acetic acid, it a little too powerful for what you need! Maybe the idea of turning egg shells black is to burn off any proteins etc from the eggs? Adding excess vinegar could be...

    Calcium for plants

nee The other 95% of vinegar will be water. If the fizzing has stop the reaction is over (or near over). I see your problem - there is solid but you can still smell vinegar. So what's going on? Vinegar has a pretty potent smell so the vinegar might only be around in trace amounts. The white...
