5 peppers got an entire 6 pack; otherwise divided into 3 (half 6-p: yes; 6/2 = 3 [hotdamn am tired]) and will prick out. Entire 6: 1. BOC (Jason/GA Growhead) 2. MoA (but another half-6 of that from Walkgood/Ramon and Steve); 3. Tabasco (mine) 4. Bahamian Goat (Greg PIC1), and 5. JA Hab (Ramon/Walkgood)

Many thanks to Mike Rote/Barley_Pop for jerky   :drooling:  and Jason/GA Growhead, for sending me my own Orange Thai seed and the hottest damn powder I've ever had! :onfire: Also, thank you, John, Ark/Saw for the Harbor Freight coupons for "torch to burn honeysuckle roots." And everybody who has, via PM or otherwise, encouraged, offered ideas on new, additional growing space: fence is gone and if no rain, fell, limb, buck and split with two splitters 8 big trees, Maple, 4 Hickories, Pecan, Black Walnut, Poplar NEXT WEEKEND!

Also, would like ideas on that new (additional) space (100'+ x 50')  with stumps, most are to side except Maple. 1. burn 2. grind (cost prohibitive and don't think rented grinder would get it but might if ya'll have any ideas) 3. Work around them this year . . . raised beds, ugh, the work or level with huge dump truck topsoil. And again, work around what's left of stumps. Rip it in Feb. REALLY rich humus in half that on the "lots of trees" side: 25' x 100'+. Also, high side. Have considered dozer/bucket end of my and cousin's tractor just to help level and "share the wealth" of humus.

Hope everybody has kick-butt 2014 GROW! :fireball:

Line of the year!

This is my most recent idea: men, please insist upon a Bonergram; then just beat hell out of the techs. They'll come up with a less painful way for women.
25 years ago I had a bone scan done for a torn adductor tendon where it anchors to the pelvis, they had me drink this radioactive stuff, and then did the scan. The tech says, "his bladder is full (no shit, they had me drink like half a gallon)...get the catheter".

I said "and bring six men, cuz yer gonna have to whip my ass before that happens" Had that done once before while conscious, NEVER gonna happen. They let me pee... :D

Sorry about the boob squeeze, LB just had it done too, and she feels the same way you do..

My wife too... She describes the Mammogram experience as going into a cold garage where they back a truck over each breast. When they're done, you go into the office and make an appointment for them to do it again the following year...  She's a breast cancer survovor though, and happy to be alive because they found ductal carcinoma in situ before it had a chance to metastasize.

Hey, Annie - great list and grow shelf unit.
Dig the car shade reflectors - great idea!

Load and lock, girl, no turning back now!

Rick, am sorry, but so thrilled your wife came through!    This is why we subject ourselves to the COLD SKIDS on COLD garage floor and if the COLD SKID doesn't fit right, they run over them again! But these exams save lives along with supportive men like you, hon! Thank you on behalf of all of us, Rick.

Damn, Scott, bad place for that tendon to tear . . . dayum. My oldest little bro--6'4" ain't "little"--had an incident with putting in new dual gas tanks on truck. Oil on floor, slip aka split, which he doesn't do = tear. They do bone scans on all those tears regardless of age. He told them to put him under if they expected to run cath. Or get the "portable urinal" If they wanted to live. I saw him knock sh**t out of a lousy home PT guy after a knee surgery. I mean, he clocked the dude. PT idiot came to and Jeff had gun on him. I got him his .45 as he asked. Guy did not "kneed" more encouragement to leave. I said, "Man, had that been a woman . . ." Bro says, "Excruciating pain don't give a damn."

I can honestly say...I have not had to threaten a doctors life once!!! Three times would be more accurate. Once on my behalf the other two for the wife.

First time was when I played college ball and tore the ligament attaching the fibula and tibia (complete tear) and the doctor took that as a training opportunity for his interns...repeatedly pulling the bones apart and slamming them back together. Made a loud Click-clock noise. On his third time through when he was turning to point at the plastic skeleton I grabbed him by his neck and said if he did it again I was going to show him how it felt in front of his students...

Next time, second kid's birth, military hospital. Doctor was hurting my wife during exam and when she cried out he stood up and screamed at her..."MRS. CAVER YOU NEED TO CALM DOWN!" in a military tone. I jumped up and threw him against the wall and calmly explained that nobody talks to my wife that way...not even myself, and that I didn't give a shit if he was an officer or not...he was about to receive an ass whoopin.

Third time my wife had donated a kidney to her father and after the surgery the doctor put her on a steady drip of Morphine...I tried for two days to get them to take her off it so she could get up and move around to start to recover, but they just kept saying "doctors orders." They said over and over that they'd contacted him but he never came by the room..."I WANT TO SEE HIM NOW" when he finally got back from whatever he was doing for those two days he said "Well she's on a demand system all she has to do is quit pushing the button." I said no dude...she's not!!! The nurse pulled him aside when she saw how red in the face I was getting...he came back with "Ummm...I'm sorry there seems to have been a mix-up..." He didn't get another word out....so freaking pissed I don't even remember what happened next...I just remember two orderlies skiing down the hallway attempting to hold me...and the doctor running down the stairs...

They see a paycheck and a cadaver on the table these days...nothing more. The days of the family doctor are not gone, but you are damn lucky if you find one that actually remembers your name before they check the chart to see how many more Motrin pills they can charge you $10 for...

Oh and finally...I have had the bonergram...unfortunate accident involving a concrete form, some waste oil and new work boots. Several lacerations were chemically cauterized...a couple more sewn shut...worst pain imaginable. Not once did I get pissed at that Dr...very kind, gentle and understanding through the pain...SHE was very professional aside from the initial look she took up my gown..."Damn honey, what did you do to yourself?"

First, you have a brother, Shane? Hook me up! Doctors (most of them) don't respond to anything but imminent danger: not threats, but real danger.

They were pulling that morphine shit on my mother 1.5 weeks after quad-bypass. My fingers (of their own volition) placed themselves around a cardio-nurse's throat and refused to release when she told me that was doc's orders and I hadn't--none of us had seen--her postop Cardiologist in that 1.5 weeks. Some guy posing as a doc came in. I was fed up. Evidently. Took orderlies too, and ya know, they should never make them women, unless those chicks kick-start vibrators and drive heavy equipment, which could be same thing. Finally, my baby brother came back and yelled, "Annie, ya killin' her!" Oh. So they sent her post-op Cardiologist in and "mistakes were made." I cussed him a blue-streak and he was backing up, since the nurse had red choker collar and he'd pulled her back in. "Mistakes were MADE??! Some goddamnbody MADE a mistake! I want you to say who!!" So out in hall, he's "I did." YOU DID WHAT TO MY MAMA?!!" "I uh, make a mistake?" "YOU DID WHAT AND DON'T ASK IT!?!" The effer finally stated that he made a mistake. (I hate the passive tense. Mistakes don't get made: WE MAKE THEM!)

Fortunately, I have a good, great, primary doc. He listens. (And he also knows that when have had enough I go shell; thus he will change PTs, other specialists); also, because after 25 years, he believes me and takes the stance that the patient knows his or her own body far better than he does. And those docs are rare.

Maybe guys like you helped him, Shane: he was a doc in military prior to his retirement and starting a family practice. But . . .

"Damn honey, what did you do to yourself?" I think "The Yearly Smasher" sounds great compared to that. "Concrete form." You poor child!

Sorry...no brother Annie. Well no "official" brothers anyway. As far as the concrete form...two 2" thick aluminum panels set 8" apart for foundation walls. They're pinned together in the shape of the basement/foundation on top of a footing. I was on top of the 8' wall one foot on each side skating along spraying the oil inside before pouring to prevent the panels from sticking to the concrete when set. I went to turn around...one foot out, one foot in...straight down on the sharp aluminum. Rolled off and fell the 8' onto a stack of 2x4s landing on my back. Knew I was hurt...but kept working and was digging the next footing over (apartment complex) when my buddy said "dude...you really need to check yourself!" Looked down...blood running down both legs...not a great day. Worst part...after my introduction to Silver Nitrate cauterization...I had to start my new second job later that night, as a bouncer. Ughhh...had to explain to the new boss that I was always ready to break up a fight...but didn't think it would be a great idea. He put me at the back door to make sure nobody was sneaking in the club...Luckily the night was uneventful!!!

Ugh, "Yeah, I bounce but uh . . ." Damn, man! And I was going to have you make crete forms for a retaining wall I want need to build :mope: .

My cousin and I made tiles for my grandmother's bathroom walls but we just used all of her Pam. (She stockpiled stuff and was displeased when she went to make some cornbread and had none. I was all "What about bacon grease? What about Crisco?" But look on her face was, "Get to the store, girl" and I did. Then she put bacon grease to that cast iron . )

Thank you for that discount coupon! Got it for around 15 bucks and while difficult to light in 20 mph wind, it did. I LOVE the  :flamethrower:  option. Of course, playing with it this afternoon and who pulls up besides my mother. She kinda overreacted, I think. But it is dry and really windy. Cold tonight with snow. Thinking about shooting down snowflakes with it :D . Thank you!

And thanks Meatfreak/Stefan! Seeded these this afternoon. Harolds St. Barts x West Indies Hab, SBonnet Foodarama, Pimenta Lisa F2, Hab Choc/Hand Grenade F3.  Jalapeños seeded later.

Pam works as a form release?  I wonder how it's cost compares to stuff made for the purpose.

I need to break out my own torch and scorch some fence rows.  I want to lay down a double layer of roofing felt, 6" wide, under the fence before stretching it into place.  Might help keep the privet and other crap from growing there.  Though I think the bamboo will just push its way through.

I'm a mother!!!

Thanks for looking! :P

It does, John. Well, better for concrete than plaster. Plaster wants to hang in but veggie oil works fine or Pam will work in butt-loads for plaster. In Malaga, Spain for blue tile, they used olive oil, but then, lots of olive trees planted as crop.

I like the idea of burning. Yeah, weight on felt might contain privet. I have doubts on bamboo, lol; I have doubts on honeysuckle too with burning but would be an ongoing process after some other form of initial kill minor injury.

Tordon RTU would take care of the privet . . . but it might "take care of" everything else as well. Then again, it might not. Conflicting reports and certainly something I'd be careful using after any weed or wood is cut--barely touched to the wound.

Anybody have strong thoughts on careful use of Tordon RTU for killing honeysuckle--(not spray like crazy, no!)? I know it works for stumps and if done carefully, spade-bit drilled and a tiny bit syringed in, or long foam brush touch in, kills stump within a year. BUT proximity of lateral roots when drilling like that to get deep, is/can be an "issue."

This is the stuff the electric companies use to spray under high-tension powerlines and it's been shown to negatively affect wetlands and worm its way into water supplies. Organochlorides tend to be extremely long-lasting too... I'd definitely take a pass on this one Miz Annie, especially if your water source is a well on your property, and I'd be upset with my neighbors if they were using it.

I tend to agree, Rick. Tordon RTU is what they paint on top of trees when they cut them out of power lines to stop shoots and regrowth. On the flip side of your argument, my baby brother had to go on dialysis 2 months before one of us was a suitable kidney donor. The town where he lives restricts backup generators as it's a historical district. (I didn't make the rules.)

He went on dialysis in January; 3 ice and snow storms could have taken out his electric supply and life, had that not been applied to trees cut from power lines in his town. (They don't use it here because they're cheap and they get paid to come cut back just enough growth to encourage growth into power lines, or that's what my old Crepe Myrtles kept telling me when I had to go back after p-company and trim them out of lines.) So, do we risk a whale or protect human life dependent on electrical power? (I'm sorry if I get snarky about the issue as baby bro didn't like them painting that on the trees in his town either and all trees near power line fell line. But, in nearby towns that didn't get the treatment, like here, we were blacked out for days. But I wasn't on dialysis.)

Also, I don't have a well on my property. And if used, T-don RTU should be CAREFULLY applied to: freshly cut stumps with small paint brush, to shoots of honeysuckle, not sprayed on the honeysuckle, since ours is not bush honeysuckle. I could go all "in defense of Bayer Bushkiller Advanced" here, but won't.

I probably won't use it but basal bark treatment on small pecans when I cut them, not allowing the Triclopyr and oil treatment to touch ground. On bigger stumps probably spade-bit KN03 with confectioners sugar, water, wait and burn. On the big Maple, stump-grind. But honeysuckle . . . am at loss since it's not bush but the kind that crawls under foundations and cracks them.  See below, Rick for what the morons at local forestry service told me. smdh

Don't know about the Tordon RTU, from what Rick says it's nasty stuff

This link may be of use...

http://www.misterhoneysuckle.com/home/shrub/how_to_kill_honeysuckle_stumps_without_herbicides.html

Tordon RTU can be used safely, Scotty: it just usually isn't. A pint of this stuff will treat 500 trees with 1 to 2.5 inch paint brush and an artist's brush for honeysuckle roots. But people think "if some is good, more is better." NOT TRUE.

I appreciate the link, hon! But we don't have bush honeysuckle. I wish it had a trunk!

Glyco (Round-Up) also will treat but it needs to be sprayed in warmer weather when sap's up and trees suck it in for slow death; I'm more reluctant to use it than Tordon. I want to save Azaleas on that bank. I have a plan with pickaxe on honeysuckle. (Called NC Forestry Service locally and they told me to "slap some and spray some Tordon on everything." Well, see? Even they are idiots! "Slap"? . NO! Spray? NO!)

I don't want to kill the garden or pollute any water supply, in order to grow more garden. And ya know, isn't it just like a woman to ask for opinions and offer countering opinions, as if she's already made up her mind? Truth is, I haven't decided yet.

If I pickaxe under the Azaleas, cut back Japanese honeysuckle at roots, that's killing Azaleas, and cover them with contractor grade trash bags, 2 thick and tuck below shallow root, pulling the Japanese honeysuckle off them (this shit's worse than kudzu), I can spray with R-Up of Bayer Advanced if do it when Azaleas are dormant, like now. Japanese h-suckle is green as grass now: it never goes dormant (at least kudzu gives us that impression). Thought about sheet metal collars around base of Azaleas, hammered in to ward off more h-suckle. So, thank you both!

Thanks, on babies Scotty! Bob is trying to stand up this morning to catch up with Mikey! I was so excited, I called my mother. She asked me if I wanted her to knit them booties. (Smartass.) Need to go do modified "Rick's morning patrol" to make sure nothing else decided to take 5-6 days to "hatch."

Thank you both! ;)
