Contest for First Ripe Pepper

I'm in. So its Naga Morich? and orange or red? I think it would be eaiest to judge ripeness by having no green/black left on the pod. Its too difficult to judge pics for color variations. Pics can often look brighter or darker than the real thing. Just my thoughts anyways.

Haven't got my seeds yet, but they are in the mail and I should receive them in a couple of days......I am ready.

I have another recommendation Pam. Everyone has to keep a log on what they did, when they did it, and what materials they used including brand name such as ________ type seed starter soil, _______ fertilizer, etc.. Then whoever wins has to share his "secrets" with the Hot Pepper Forum.

Sound Fair?

I'll give it a go why not?... Its not like a whole lot is going on in Jan 1 anyways except a hangover and what better way to deal with it than planting seeds.

I better get Mc Crackin on getting the basement cleared this is also a good excuse to start the season for the spring.....

True, and color can be altered with photo programs, too. So, the first all the way non-green Naga is the winner?

That was why I suggested using the blogs. Post a step by step so everyone can see what works and what doesn't. It will make good references for the folks that ask how to grow peppers, too.

Heh...*sheepish grin* I've never grown a thing in my life. What better way to start than with a contest? =P

*goes to google to begin the search for the perfect naga-growing...plan =P*

Naga Morich seeds in hand........yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.......Now I am ready.

No seeds planted in yet...im in!!!!!Do dorsets count???

I'm not real sure what to say about that. Do we know if there is any real difference between the two? This is just for fun, and I don't want anyone to take it too seriously, but it should be fair, all the same.

I'm not sure who was the one to say it, but someone mentioned they go red faster.
Also they're bigger in some cases.

This sounds like some fun!
Is there a list of names that are going to do this?
Also first ripe pod should be at least the length of two "twist top" bottle caps.

Oh, like we're going to take the word of one pale, sandal wearing Aussie about the potency of another pale, sandal wearing Aussie's sad little faux Naga's.

Even Potawie the Pepper Porn Potentate can kick his pale Aussie butt, and I'm gonna plow Potawie into the garden for compost!

(let the trash talkin' begin!)
