Fiveohmike's 2016 Grow log

Well at the poking and prodding of some folks here, I am doing my first grow log.

This will be me, out of sheer laziness, moving away from grow beds and starting from seeds, to moving to pure use of grow pouches. A mixture of 7 gallon and 5 gallon pots.  I am moving the old soil from the beds, mixing with fresh soil and potting up about 18 plants right now.  I will also be ordering more plants.
This year I decided to test out www.chileplants.com after hearing some good things from TXCG and Guatemalan Insanity Pepper.  So I placed my order in January with the following list:

7 Pot Douglah
Aji Omnicolor
Bishops Crown
Brain Strain Red
California Wonder Red
California Wonder Golden
Fatalii Red
Feherazon
Inca Red Drop
JALAPENO GIGANTIA HYBRID
Jays Peach Ghost Scorpion
King Arthur Hybrid
Mavras Hybrid
Morgua Scorpion
Rocoto Red
SJ's Carolina Reaper
Early Girl Hybrids Tomatoes
Martinos Roma Tomatoes

EDIT:  Planted 10 more plants

Golden Wonder Bell
Classic Jalapeno
Costa Rican Sweet Pepper
2x Zuchinni
2x Cucumber
Super Sweet Tomato
Sun Gold Tomato
Green Tomatillo

So I decided to start today.  I pulled the top cover "aka weeds" out of the garden beds and am prepping for a busy weekend.  Today was a great day as well as my plants from CCN showed up.  I can't say enough about how healthy the plants look, and the amazing packaging.  Well worth the extra bucks going with them, especially shipping form the east coast to here on the west coast:

Will be out in the garden after hardening these off to plant into pots.  Gonna grab some perlite, some mix soil and prep the old dirt and get things going.  Looking forward to seeing how the garden ends up with trading time for a little extra money.

Also I will probably order another 6-12 plants bring my total this year to 24 - 30 plants of various varieties.

I was going to say ................those plants look in amazing shape for the ride they took.....very nice.

Well got around to pulling the rest of the top cover, mixing in some compost with my existing soil and getting ready for the transfer this weekend to pouches.  Also at this rate my female pitbull Nala is about to get mixed in with the mulch cause she is annoying the hell out of me this morning.  My male pitmix not seen in this picture is terrified of shovels so is hiding somewhere inside:

Getting the plants out for some early morning sun:

Dog tax! you can not just say that you have one more dog and provide zero pictures of it, better correct that son or else :3.

Raised beds looks good, lol i bet the pit will dig up as soon you put them plants in the ground. Mine always does >.<

Well pulled a noob maneuver today.

Was hardening off the plants.  Put them out at 7am and was going to pull them in at noon.  Well I got distracted by work and didnt get them in until 2:30pm.   Well the smallest plant out of the bunch that I got was a Jay's Peach Ghost Scorpion...and it go fried:

hope she can bounce back from that....i need a beer.

Well I got around to getting them into pots.  It was partly sunny today, and a bit more sun tomorrow so they are handling good.  Full sun will be here wednesday so I am keeping them near the fence to only get about 6-7 hours of sun, mostly early morning stuff.

However seeing the empty beds makes me sad an I am debating about consolidating into two tall beds, getting a couple more bags of dirt and just growing more  ... hahah damn this is a sickness.

I picked up a another Early Girl Hybrid and a Golden Wonder Bell Pepper so I am at an even 20 plants:

Yep I totally lied...was gonna pull the beds out but the wife begged me to grow more "normal" veggies since she doesnt like hot stuff.  So I consolidated down to two tall planters and put in 8 more plants.

New plants are:

Jalapeno
Costa Rican Sweet Pepper
Green Tomatillo
Sun Gold Tomato
2x Zuchinni
2x Cucumber

I did end up hitting them with an underdose of CalMag + Epsom foliar spray to see if I can coax them back.

Well an update.  The spray helped with the color, but its just taking time for them to come back.  Everything else is going apeshit:

Tomatoes have 26 set already on the front two plants:
