Fiveohmike's 2016 Grow log

Well at the poking and prodding of some folks here, I am doing my first grow log.

This will be me, out of sheer laziness, moving away from grow beds and starting from seeds, to moving to pure use of grow pouches. A mixture of 7 gallon and 5 gallon pots.  I am moving the old soil from the beds, mixing with fresh soil and potting up about 18 plants right now.  I will also be ordering more plants.
This year I decided to test out www.chileplants.com after hearing some good things from TXCG and Guatemalan Insanity Pepper.  So I placed my order in January with the following list:

7 Pot Douglah
Aji Omnicolor
Bishops Crown
Brain Strain Red
California Wonder Red
California Wonder Golden
Fatalii Red
Feherazon
Inca Red Drop
JALAPENO GIGANTIA HYBRID
Jays Peach Ghost Scorpion
King Arthur Hybrid
Mavras Hybrid
Morgua Scorpion
Rocoto Red
SJ's Carolina Reaper
Early Girl Hybrids Tomatoes
Martinos Roma Tomatoes

EDIT:  Planted 10 more plants

Golden Wonder Bell
Classic Jalapeno
Costa Rican Sweet Pepper
2x Zuchinni
2x Cucumber
Super Sweet Tomato
Sun Gold Tomato
Green Tomatillo

So I decided to start today.  I pulled the top cover "aka weeds" out of the garden beds and am prepping for a busy weekend.  Today was a great day as well as my plants from CCN showed up.  I can't say enough about how healthy the plants look, and the amazing packaging.  Well worth the extra bucks going with them, especially shipping form the east coast to here on the west coast:

Will be out in the garden after hardening these off to plant into pots.  Gonna grab some perlite, some mix soil and prep the old dirt and get things going.  Looking forward to seeing how the garden ends up with trading time for a little extra money.

Also I will probably order another 6-12 plants bring my total this year to 24 - 30 plants of various varieties.

So I may have thrips.  Seeing a lot of nats fly off (very small) when i rustle the leaves.  Time to get some stuff to handle this.  Hopefully this helps.

Is one of my big fears are the bugs.... guess will cope with them when they come.   I pray they are NOT some devastating type that destroys a plant in a day or 2

Ah man, the warped little leaves suck, I hope they grow out of it soon.
Mine are pretty beat up by sunburn as well, but already showing signs of new growth, so I'm pretty happy :)

Oh ok, I was looking at them a few weeks ago. The $20 shipping is what had me click the cancel button but maybe i'll still give them a try. One the few places that had wild brazil plants.

They aren't cheap but they have a great selection, top quality plants and their shipping containers are second to none. I have used them twice now and both years all 18-24 plants have arrived looking pristine without a hint of damage in transport. You definitely get what you pay for out of CCN.

Agree with this 100%

On a side note the heat seems to be doing my peppers some good.  Noticeably perkier today.  Shitty part is our weird weather is coming back down into the low 70's again with night lows into the 40's :(

ok just got out of the garden, pruned the tomatoes more, got all leaves off the ground, got rid of the dead Cucumber shoot, moved all peppers into full sun, tied up one of the good Cucumber shoots and now to let everything dry out and see

And now we get a major wind storm for 2 days in a row trashing my plants :/

Im at a loss as to what is going on wiht some of these.  Let them dry out but then we get hit with a wind storm and cool temps again.
