harvesting Harvesting Seeds

When you want to harvest seeds from a pod you've grown should you start the growing process with them ASAP or can you throw them in a container and hang on to them for a little bit?

Any other tips on seed harvesting would be appreciated too!

everything i have read is you can use them right away, or you can dry them out for a week or so then bag them up and keep them in a dark place till you want to germinate.

Stored properly they can last years. I believe cmpman1974 just successfully germinated some seeds that were in the 10 year old neighborhood. Cool, dry and dark is the best.

If you wish to store your seeds, dry them. fresh seeds will germinate perfectly.

There have been other members who have germinated 10+ year old seeds as well.
