Hot Peanut Experiment...

Well awhile back I bought some tabasco infused
peanuts that I loved but cant find them around here
so I tried today to make my own with some of my own sauces
and seasonings. The 1st 2 pics are my initial idea using
some water salt raw peanuts sauce etc then baking them in
the oven for 20 to 25 minutes at 350

Well after 4 batches I tried some FAILURE so I tried
just using sauce salt seasoned salt and some of my spices
and a little longer bake time and I got these
Pic 1 if a before oven shot last 2 aftershots of cooling
down then final product

I am pretty happy with the results I had to tinker with the
time to get them right and I probably could make em better
but I am Happy!!I still have another batch to make tomorrow
but with oil, salt, seasoned salt and a lil garlic salt for
my g/f :)

Those peanuts aren't raw, raw peanuts are green.

Thank THP I wasnt aware of that.I got these at a local
produce store that said raw peanuts.Maybe they are green
on the inside?? I like mine in shell and I tried 1 before
I cook em and they did taste like sh*t

Peanuts aren't actually nuts but legumes, so raw ones look like raw string beans. In the south they boil the green ones in salt water... yum. I don't know about infusing them, but I would imagine it'd be when they are green, then roast them.

My bad... there is a difference between raw and green. I guess raw are dried but not raosted. Anyhow, for infusion, I think you need green. But not sure. Good luck, lol.

Thanks THP.You had me scared I might get sick or something
or maybe these were bad peanuts.:lol:I did a check and you
are right these are not raw but they havent been cooked
just air dried to remove moisture hence not green.I thought
I might get food poisoning or something. 1st 4 batches in water bleck no flavor but the just use sauce no water
man these are good nice and hot and crunchy inside!!

The "infusion" is what the store bought tabasco peanuts said
too bad they didnt have directions to make em on the bag
$4.99 for a 10 oz bag hell no

Yeah, it says boiled peanuts are green but sometimes raw, so you could use those raw ones for boiling/infusing if you like boiled peanuts. It says you boil them for up to 15 hours

15 Hours?? Well with my 1st season of growing chile's
upon me plus tying flies for my online fly sales on top
of training the pup for this years bird season(hopefully
he will be ready he will only be 9 months old by then)
then all the pickling/sauce/spice making
I plan on doing...boiling peanuts well I just might
have to wait til next year for that!!:lol:
