I got you down my friend.  Give me at least a month so I can start getting some more serous poddage going.  Super late this year.  If I could get some weather to cooperate it would be better.  I am seeing some serious blossoms on some varieties so it might be damn late on some, but there should be an extra 10,000 or so pods I would guess.  I can only process so many.  The weather is turning for the worse now though, 4 days of dry, and things were really looking good, ground was getting a touch dryer, now its going to turn to pudding again, looking at 3 days of rain.

I know your a jigsaw fan, I don't think I am going to have too many this year, but will make sure to get a couple to you.  I have 1 plant and its not loaded, but what is on there is even more wicked than last year.  Its close enough in texture and appearance, I am thinking its still true, I have had other varieties that seem to change a bit from year to year.  You probably saw the pic above in yesterdays post.
Thanks Justin. Yeah, Jigsaw is still one of my all time favorite Super Hot. The pic looks good. I see you have a Jigsaw cross. I'm not picky or inpatient. I'll wait and take what ever you send.
I love crosses. You have a ton of BBG varieties. I'll have to buy some seeds from ya this year.

Sucks to hear about the weather. We have the same soil. If it dry's out, it's hard as a rock. To wet and it takes for ever to dry out. I hate walking in the stuff when it's wet. My shoe size goes up a size with every step. Thanks for the tip about throwing the soil mix in the hole. You made my season. It helped a bunch.

Pace yourself buddy. You might be running behind schedule, but when it kicks into high gear, look out.

Thanks John, heres and update on the bonnets, one of them you sent.  Also, the biggest nebru plant is now 4+ feet tall and almost as wide, and has started setting pods finally as you described, out on the out reaches of the branches.

And the ones below are one of my favorites.  These resulted from Red MOA seeds last year.  The were great last year and growing almost the same this year.  This thing has the most consistent shapes of any bonnet I have grown.  All the pods on the plant have this same overall shape and are just great.

Beautiful pod's. I can't get over how fantastic the pod's always turn out. Keep up the good work.

Great to see the Matthew Arthur Peach bonnets they look a nice size ... I would appreciate an honest review as I noted they lacked the floral taste ... Yes the NeBru grows to a monster you may need to support the lateral branches as the weight of pods may break the branches ... Thanks for posting the "Jamaican Long" mine is a mirror image but at the moment tiny

Very nice bonnets, that peach looks really tasty. Lmk how you like them. Next year will probably just be bonnets and crosses

Today's pickings.  I think I have a new favorite, after 2 years at the top Yellow Moruga may have been dethroned with Big Yellow Mama.

Nothing but goodness with this.  Huge pods, high heat, but not super, less than yellow brain strain but respectable.  Has that typical yellow chinense flavor that I love.

Love your pics great pods an that yellow foodarama sure is gnarly.
I like the yellow bonnets that came form the red moa they look real cool & those peach bonnets look real tasty.
How is the red moa X red foodarama doing?
Oh an that douglah X yellow seven looks cool.
I was interested in them got seed but did not germinate for me.
I would be interested to know your thoughts on heat & flavor

Amazing looking pods! All of them! I'm really diggin' the BBG7 Naga. Great pheno! It looks mean. I love the color of your Big Yellow Mama. Nice big pods, too. But the one that really grabbed my attention was the choco Primo. It looks fantastic and I've been waiting for this pepper. I'm glad to see it's out there. I'd love to grow it. Great stuff!

Glad to hear you found a new favorite. It's always exciting when one finds a great tasting pod. Monstrous pod's.

Choco Primo looks evil. Giving me cap cramps looking at it.

Foodarama looks the size of a baseball. LoL!
I wonder what that weighs in at.

Very cool pod's.

Thanks for sharing.

The peach was good.  Seemed a bit milder in both heat and flavor than some of the yellow ones.  Nice pods though and something I might grow again.
Thanks for your review Justin I can't compete with your heat and humidity so it's great to see that bonnet thrive in your conditions ... I look forward to your thoughts on the NeBru

Will have more bonnet seed to send to you later in the year

You're simply killing it!

Congratulations ;)  Nice huge gnarly poddage!
Thanks my friend.  Thinks are looking up, seems like some days I go out and they look off, then other days they look better.  I got a lot of yellowing on lower leaves I believe since it shifted from very wet again to quite dry and probably need some food that I don't have time to do with so many plants.  Hoping some of the new anti fungals sprays I got help, they are based on beneficial bacterial and the other a plant extract and both are also supposed to help stimulate growth.  Everything looked pretty good tonight.

the red foodarama is doing ok, smallish pods compared to the rest of the bonnets, different shapes than the yellow
the red moa x you ahve seen other posts, its killing it
that douglah x yellow i got from midwest chileheads, looks different, theirs was bumpy, these are pretty smooth but huge pods and going to be interesting i think

Thanks.  I am hoping to do a sizeable trade with you this fall, or even buy some seeds from you.  I have caught the bonnet bug, I need to grow even more.  I think everything you sent is looking great.  I got a feeling I am going to love that nebru, nothing ripe yet, probalby going to be a while but the big plant has set about 15 or 20 pods I think and they look damn good, really bumpy, good size.

The one bonnet I am going to be desparate for next year is some new EOB stock.  I gave out all my seeds and my one big plant is a cross.  The other a runt and might not set a pod.  You may be interested in whatever comes of this EOB cross though.  Looks pretty wicked, it was near a burkina yellow which had some of this shape, but really looks like it crossed with a moruga.  Now that I think of it, damn I just had to go back to last years map to see what was near as I didn't think anyting with this shape, but now that I look it was right next to a yellow brain strain.   Just got even more excited, damn if this crossed with that, 2 of my favorites combined, could be something really great.

Holy smoke. 37 grams!!! That's 1.3oz. Amazing. I to have been interested in the Bonnet's. Thanks to John. He has some amazing varieties.

The yellowing of lower leaves could also be the older leaves just doing there thing. Before the storm my Chinese did the same thing. I just let them fall in there own. Nothing since then.

Good luck with the Anti-Fungal spray. It's always good to do some personal research. Let use know how things go with its use.

I've been researching Black Strap Mollasses. I've used it in my compost teas quite a bit. I recently read how a lot of sugar in a plants leaves will kill insects that feed on them. Supposedly a lot of insects will parish with to much sugar intake. As a foliar, supposed to be a immediate uptake by the plants. Still researching facts though. I've been foilar feeding with Ricks (stickman) recipe. The plants are looking good. Starting to bloom really nice. Don't want to over do it though. Well enough rambling.

Take care and pace yourself.

Yeah, i was surpised it was that heavy, didn't feel it.  I weight one of my biggest MOAs and it was only 22g.
I was thinking same thing with a lot of my yellowing.  The bulk of it is the lower huge chinense leaves.  Its only when I see some nastiness up hight in the pepper I get worried and haven't seen much of that lately and no thing new really on any healthy ones which I am happy about.

I did some pretty intense reading on about every antifungal available to consumers.  One formula I used I got from tomatoville forums.  Someone there was having success with Exel LG/Actinovate and black strap molasses as a sticker.  Sprayed that twice.  The Exel is more antifungal, but the actinove is antifungal and bacterial.  Actinovate is beneficial bacterial and sounds very safe.  Its also recommended as a soil drench and preferable to start using when plants are very young which I will do next year.  I will also buy no plants from a nursery next year which is I believe the source of my problems this year but will also treat the seeds in bleach before germinating. The molasses started to concern me a bit though, one of the benefits was to help the actinovate stick and also give the beneficial bacteria some sugar so they could thrive.  Then I got worried and wondered if I still have some live bad bacteria hanging around might it also stimulate their growth, so bought a spreader-sticker to use for a while.

Damn as I am typing hearing some high wind noises, just looked at radar wicked looking weather front moving in.  Of course since I just sprayed last night.

I think that's one of the sources I read about the bacteria as well. Not sure though. Anyways. I'm not impressed by nursery plants as well. Had tomatoes and pepper plants I chopped down in fear of contamination. Didn't actually know what they got, but didn't want to waste my time trying to fix. That's why I plant big. I'm going to purchase a book in building soil. I need to get the science of soil building down. Then I can put it to use. I've read a good living soil will resist a lot of diseases. I'm still on the clay side of things, but doing good thanks to your notes.

I hope you don't get to hammered. We got a steady drizzle today. Lots of humidity. Don't need anymore down pours. Trying to dry things out a bit. Thanks for all the good info.
