To add to the nursery plant discussion:
I do my best not to use them, but sometimes like this year I had to. Never had issues with peppers. But with tomatoes, the story was not pretty.
Thanks.

Yeah, I won't buy Bonnie brand plants period.  I had 2 of their tomatoes from Wal Mart probably back in 2005 and within a month they were severely diseased and took down a few other plants with them.  Back then my focus was tomatoes.  Then after getting back into gardening after a layoff a few years ago, bought all my plants from local places and had one strike again.  So quit buy tomatoes from places, but I never had a problem with peppers.  I have never sprayed anything on a pepper before this year other than a touch of epsom salts.  I am now spraying twice a week.  But I almost feel comfortable now saying I think I have contained it mostly.   Even after a good storm and lot of rain last night and super humid last 3 days, tonight they looked better than they have in weeks.  The ones that never got sick look greener than ever.  The ones that were on the edge, and may have had a start look pretty good now and even some of the ones that I had almost given up on seem to be pulling out of it.  I think I pulled about 20 or 30 plants total.  I stripped another 10 down to the stems only.  Some of the plants I went as far as spraying with bleach water.  I never imagined that could be done, but they seemed to be ok.  A few took it pretty hard.  I have a sugar rush peach that was on the brink of death, it was so healthy and bush and within 2 weeks was a spindly mess with only a few leaves left.   Now it looks almost disease free and is growing like crazy.  The fact that the ones that were in critical condition seem to be turning the corner gives me hope that I can keep the others from getting sick now.  Unfortunately I have about 40 or 50 plants that I won't save seed from as I feel its a little too risky.  I don't want to have to deal with this again and definitely don't want anyone else to go through it from my seeds.   I suppose there is no guarantees either way, but hopefully whats left will be good healthy plants.

Few random pics from today.

I am having a little trouble with this one.  I can't decide if theres a cross going on here or I just happen to have some massive Bahamian goats this year.  I have 2 plants, one from SLP seeds, looking pretty normal.   The other is from my saved seeds from 2 years back.  Plant is much bigger than any got back then and also theres some of these massive pods on it.  But overall the pods are generally shaped right and some of them look spot on for size and everything.  Have to wait and see i guess.

I don't know if Bahamian Goat is a cross, or it's because you grow in the land of Giants. All your pod's are gigantic!

Either way. They look fantastic as usual.

7pot Jonah. Yum!
Yeah, I know sometimes I have some big pods, but I grew goats 2 years back and never saw anything this big, will have to wait and see.  I have another plant where they all look more normal, trying to get at least one isolated pod from there for future efforts, just too good of a pepper to not grow.

And yeah, 7 pot jonah is probably my favorite red 7 pot, so smooth compared to most of them and hot but not insane like a red brain strain or sr strain or something.

Just beautiful pods!

And I agree, the 7pot white is just crazy with pods!

Also the Baha Goat does look like a cross, mine have always kinda looked like orange MoA pods. But who knows mine were from OP seeds gifted.

Keep it green!
Yeah, that big one doesn't look quite right, I think it was the higher up pods that looked more like a true b. goat.  We well see, either way I think its going to turn out to be something pretty good.  I like how its got a fairly rough texture.   And yeah, that damn 7 pot white plant, I am worried those branches might break if they get any more loaded, I might have to rig up some supports.  Just noticed tonight on the big yellow mama plant that one of the main branches has set quite a few pods all about 3 feet off the ground.  I know if they grow as big as the others no way that branch would support all that so put a bamboo stake on that one already.

There looking really good Justin. Your going to be buried in pods by the end of the season.

Below is a pic of some pods that were harvested from a bahamian goat seed i got from you. All the pods are really big and hot. They do have the classic creases of the goat.

That sucks.  Sorry about that, but since the bulk of what I have sent out is open pollinated it does happen from time to time.  This is the first one I have heard of with my B. Goat seeds.

Thanks Frank.  Yeah, plants are looking much better.   And next 10 days of weather looks great, little cooler so should see some more pod setting.  I have seen a few plants with quite massive second waves forming.

Nice to see your growing the Nagabon. I have it on my seed list with hippy seed co . How do they taste?

Those Khans look hot. The looks remind me of a Jigsaw. Let me know how they taste? Don't mean to give you cap cramps. LOL

I don't need to ask about those Reapers. They live up to their name.

Nice pics. Never heard of the Morugalah. It looks good and hot.

Its all good. I grew four B.Goat plants three are true. I will be regrowing the cross in 2017. I really like the mystery when you get a cross as you can find something really special. I grew an aji penec from another member, but the pods came out white and gnarly, definately a keeper. I will be sharing seeds for this one on the seed trains.

Pretty new to this hobby, but flipped through every page of your thread and wow is all I can say haha. Interested to see how the 7JPN will ripen! Let me know if you get any seeds from Genghis Kahn, I'd be more than interested in some haha.

Nagabons were good.  Hard to pick how the flavor came out for me, but didn't detect any naga.  They were milder than I expected, I would say less heat than a typical bonnet.  Honestly though, not sure if I would grow again myself, but I'll try to get some to you so you can try them yourself.  That plant is loaded, so won't be a shortage there.

The Kahn's were hot, but I expected hotter.  Tasted similar to brain strain, but I think a touch less toxic than the original brain strain.  I didn't go into instant cap cramps like I would have with the real brain strain.  It does have that same time delay, seemed to take 15 to 30 seconds to kick the heat in.  I made salsas for work today, my favorite way to test, and consensus among go workers was that it was about the same and maybe just a touch hotter than the 7 Pot Jonahs.  That jonah strain this year is killer.  I think its probably the perfect pheno and damn they are good.  Would have to still say those are my favorite red 7 pot.  And compared to jigsaws, I think jigsaw is hotter, and probably considerably hotter.  Those genghis kahns are big pods, and really thick walled.  I am certain a jigsaw of smaller size and half the wall thickness would put out just as much heat.  I about killed myself a few weeks back with jigsaw powder in some ramen noodles.  I hadn't had any in months and over did it forgetting how damn hot that shit is.

I don't know much about the morugalah either, got the seeds from Florissa (mpicante).  Pretty obvious the cross, but the pods are shaped different than I would have guessed.  I suspect they should be hot, will find out theres tons of them.

You know, they are being stubborn on this plant.  Some of those were ripe close to a week.  I have a few others not wanting to bleed either.

Yeah, I hate when people get a cross from me, but all I can really do is be up front the are open pollinated.  Starting last year though I keep all the annuums and baccatums and milds away from the chinense peppers on other side of yard.  So hopefully crosses with a chinense should be good these days.  I know some people really don't like the surprises, but have to admit, after some of the great accidental crosses popping up for me this year, I am really not minding open pollinated.  I have more isolated pods this year already than last, but hell I might not even use them as much.  I still get about 70 to 80% true on most of my open stuff, but knowing how I have planted this year, a lot of the potential accidental crosses would be good.  And since I can't seem to get an intentional cross to take for the life of me, this probably only way I am going to get something unique.

I have another plant that is perfect, and have a few isolated pods on it now I think so will be sure to have pure seed from now on I hope.  Its truly a great pepper.

This pod came off of my red MOA plant from your seeds. I assume it crossed with something. Look at the size of this thing lol. I'm going to cut into it tonight and taste it.
Yeah, that sucks man.  But at least its a nice looking pod.  Hope its got the MOA flavor.  I was trying to think back to where that MOA was planted, and closest things to it I think shaped like that were probably either chocolate habs or elysium oxide bonnets.  There was also a 7 pot peach and 7 pot orange similar shapes to that across the way from it so maybe its one of those crossed?

7JPN ripens to a burnt orange.  So the other side of that pod that is facing away from the dominant sun is a lighter color.  That side will be mostly orange, the dark side will have orange in it but not all of the dark with go away.  They look pretty unique.  If time I will post pics once they ripen.  I will probably have kahn seeds later this fall for sure.

Interesting that the Nagabon wasn't that hot. I expected hotter. Upside no bitter Naga taste. Might make a good sauce.

Thanks for the info on the Khans. Get go wrong with Jonah's. Glad yours are a winner.
Yeah the Jigsaws are usually paper thin compared to the other super's. The ones you grew, pepper lovers and mine were instant heat. I remember you had to phenols last year. Both were great to me.

Don't feel bad about the open pollinated. I like them. I always hooe for a natural cross each years. If I want to grow something true, I look for iso. I love that mystery volunteer you grew. That thing had some beastly pod's.

I love the MOA flavor. Nothing like a good MOA cross. I just mixed a batch of MOA and Scorpions for purée. Came out amazing. Definitely has the taste of MOA with Yellow Scorpion heat. I was wondering how the ScotchBrain is? Don't know if anybody has, had any ripe ones yet. Great looking pepper.

Speeking of MOAs, if you like them I have some interesting phenos going this year.  Got both my red and yellow from semillas.  I need to get a pick of the reds, not shaped at all like last year, looking pretty wicket really,  I tried to get a pic of one of the yellows today to illustrate the variation I have seen in MOA last 2 years from 2 different seed sources.  I am not a very good photographer but you can see there is long ones here and short 4 lobed ones. Also on same plant are pods with stingers.  The other plant I need to look again, but I think it might be a cross, maybe not, but all the pods were long about 3" many with little stingers if I remember right.  Both are looking really good and will probably be really tasty.  Maybe the second plant is a long pheno MOA, dunno.  I agree though, I have quite a few crosses from open pollinated this year some from mine many from other people or vendors.  Normally my NOT plants suck, but this year most of them are looking damn interesting.  Hopefully will have some of these new ones ripe in the next few weeks to month.

They didn't look like that.  I wonder if you have a cross or just these aren't stable.  From the seeds I received last year, planted 3 and 3 different plants.  One produced huget big pods more bonnet shaped but only a few pods.   The mushroom pheno, not sure if I am describing that the best but couldn't find pic, heres link to them below.  Then theres the yellow big perfect bonnet shaped ones I had.

Picture sucks, but they were more of a stubby cone shape or like an upside down pointy mushroom.  Solid and good.
