Nice looking presentation on those shaker bottles Chris. You should have lots of happy people when you hand out the samples too. What was the charity you were donating to?

Going to let the plants ride it out. End of the season anyway and hopefully I can still dig up what is left and overwinter it if possible.

... HIGH WIND WATCH NOW IN EFFECT FROM MONDAY MORNING THROUGH TUESDAY AFTERNOON...
* WINDS... NORTHEAST TO NORTH AT 35 TO 45 MPH WITH GUSTS OF 55 TO 65 MPH ARE ANTICIPATED MONDAY AND TUESDAY. THESE WINDS MAY THEN SHIFT TO THE WEST LATE MONDAY AS THE STORM MOVES ACROSS OUR AREA. THERE IS THE POTENTIAL FOR SOME LOCAL WIND GUSTS TO 75 MPH, MAINLY ALONG THE IMMEDIATE NEW JERSEY COAST.
* TIMING... THE WINDS WILL INCREASE FROM THE IMMEDIATE ATLANTIC COAST INLAND DURING SUNDAY INTO MONDAY. THE STRONGEST WINDS ARE EXPECTED TO OCCUR DURING MONDAY.
* IMPACTS... A PROLONGED PERIOD OF HIGH WINDS WILL INCREASE THE POTENTIAL FOR STRUCTURAL DAMAGE, DOWNED TREES AND POWER OUTAGES. THE COMBINATION OF THE WIND, INCREASINGLY SOFTENED GROUND, AND MANY TREES STILL WITH LOTS OF LEAVES, COULD RESULT IN WIDESPREAD POWER OUTAGES MONDAY AND TUESDAY. TREES COULD BE COMPLETELY UPROOTED AND MANY TREE LIMBS BROKEN. POWER OUTAGES MAY BE OF DURATION.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
A HIGH WIND WATCH MEANS THERE IS THE POTENTIAL FOR A HAZARDOUS HIGH WIND EVENT. SUSTAINED WINDS OF AT LEAST 40 MPH... OR GUSTS OF 58 MPH OR STRONGER MAY OCCUR. CONTINUE TO MONITOR THE LATEST FORECASTS.

More Information

..TROPICAL CYCLONE SANDY TO PRODUCE VERY STRONG WINDS ACROSS OUR REGION LATE SUNDAY NIGHT AND ESPECIALLY MONDAY INTO TUESDAY...
.TROPICAL CYCLONE SANDY IS FORECAST TO MOVE NORTHWARD, THEN HOOK BACK TO THE NORTHWEST MONDAY AND MOVE ONSHORE IN OUR AREA SOMETIME LATER MONDAY. THIS SYSTEM IS ANTICIPATED TO TRANSITION INTO MORE OF A NOR'EASTER AS IT ARRIVES IN OUR LATITUDE, HOWEVER SIGNIFICANT IMPACTS ARE EXPECTED AS IT WILL BE A LARGE STORM.

It is official, today the plants will come out of the ground and any pod that has started to ripen will be pulled. We are going into the freezing stage for several nights and there are no more tricks. I'll take some pictures of the plants, so many pods that could use 30 more days. :( Hopefully some techniques will allow most to ripen, if not, hello to a few thousand green pods and green powder. :)

R.I.P. 2012 grow season...

43 plants hanging and 4 potted up for an overwinter attempt. The overwinter plants not pictured. I'll get better pictures tomorrow during daylight. Overwinter plants are, 7 Pot Jonah, 7 Pot Brown, Jay's Ghost Scorpion Red, Chocolate Bhut Jolokia.

I did that one year with tomato plants to get a few more to ripen on the vine, but the leaves made an awful mess all over the garage floor. Plus, mine still had my car in it, the hubby's dirtbikes, and all the kids bikes and stuff, so it was not a nice open space like yours. My container plants are all sitting in the garage right now, while I try and decide whether to overwinter any of them. There are lots of ripe pods on them, and a couple plants are still flowering. Guess they don't know the season's over yet ...

In preparation for the holiday season I now have 1 ounce glass with shaker/pour lids that hold .5 oz NT WT of powder. I'll be offering up some specials for you THP'ers soon! I am also going to be offering 10 powder sample packs similar to what is in the pizza challenge.
