I don't know about him, but I got mine from Tradewindsfruit. $2 for about 20-30 seeds, only takes about 3-5 days to arrive, and great germination rates. Hard to beat that...

Super looking plants and pods, three cheers! Doing wonderful, keep it up

All pics work on iPhone 3G, not sure what's up with yours Franz.

Nice pictures, very nice variety.

I have a favor: would you mind measuring the length of the siling labuyo and also the siling haba. My friend found this jar claiming to be 'sili labuyo' but they look more like the haba you posted.

These measure about 4 to 5 cm. Maybe a lot of chilis in the Phils get lumped under the labuyo name??

let me see about that measurement thing this weekend. siling labuyo should be 1/2" to 1" inch only as far as I could remember. The pepper on the jar looks like the imported taiwan chilis. those chilis are grown by commercial producers because they are more prolific(coz they are hybrids), heavier and longer which makes them more ideal in weight and volume.

siling haba should be at least around 5-6" long. rarely will you see a ripe siling haba in the market.

SL,
Thanks! that approximate measurement is what I needed. I was looking for the shorter one like you posted earlier, and got confused by the commercial hybrid. I read thru posts by you and Franz earlier and now understand the disdain for the hybrids a little better.

I have a friend of an auntie in Cebu now knows what to look for--

No problem. If you need seeds, just shoot me a PM and I'll reserved that ripening pod for you. Just hope and pray that the birds don't get it first. :D

Thanks for that! We'll see what they come up with in Cebu (also Negros). Your pix very helpful! If these grow and ripen year round there, maybe I can luck out and my friend can find some viable seeds there in next week or so...

srin, Nice, tea bags. i wonder where I could buy some here... I protect my downward pods using a plastic cup. Thnkas for giving me an idea for the upright pods. :D

how do you put the cup in ??? that is a big pepper :) . bell pepper or anaheim?
if you don't have tea bags ..you can use small ziplock bag and use a paper puncher to make a hole in it of course away from the pod. (corner)
or there also these little pouches...made from plastic netting see image below
