SnF's Feastival!

Last night I made some poppers.

8oz brick cream cheese, softened
1 lb jalas
2 slices cooked bacon, chopped
4 oz shredded cheese
4 oz fire roasted salsa (home made)
 
Slice the jalas lengthwise and gut them.  Keep stem on, it serves as a handle.
 
 
 
all hollowed out and ready to stuff!
 
 
 
Mix the softened cream cheese with the bacon, shredded cheese and salsa.  Stir well to combine.
 
 
 
Get a spoon and make with the stuffing!!  Here they are ready to go topped with a bit of smoked jala powder:
 
 
 
And now to the grill we go!
 
 
 
Gently remove the poppers about 20-30 minutes later and plate.

Spatchcock BBQ Chicken, Maui Purple Potato Salad & Garlic Butter Glazed Grilled Broccoli
 
Super cool GIP sent me some dried maui purple pods a ways back and I continue to love the sharp, bright heat they bring. Been crushing and sprinkling them on most of my food for the last month or so - they're kinda like restaurant pizza flake save they're actually hot and great tasting. 
 
We picked up a chicken from our farmer last week.  I gave it a 24 hour brine, then we spatchcocked it and put it in the smoker with some apple chunks.  Maui purple flakes added to my normal chicken rub, then I added about 2 tsp to our normal potato salad recipe.  It was a great meal.  Much obliged GIP.  ;)

I'm glad your enjoying them pods.
It's a pretty interesting plant too.  Beautiful purple and white flowers with green foliage occasionally blushed with purple anthocyanins when in direct sunlight for most the day, pods that ripen from purple to red.
The plant grows kinda spindly but puts out so many pods :D

i dunno man i was like, whoa  :shocked:  lookin' at the pic, but when i read Nardellos in sauce, thats when i started to salivate

But she makes a killer chicken tortilla cheese casserole.
 
And mac and cheese.
 
And breakfast.

And thats about it.
