Someone here threatened me.

grantmichaels - You are right.  I do need thicker skin.  It was just to be here with so many nice people, then smack, right in the face with a cold, wet, dead flounder.  It really hurt.  I should have just quoted the video back to him right off and reminded him of the things he said.  It was just so much of a shock to have someone jump on me when everyone else was being so nice.  Please friend me, you have very good advice / influence and I could use that right now.  Going threw a lot nearly loosing my feet.

To everyone, again very sorry I felt so hurt and expressed it.  I am going to have to get used to people going off on me like that, even when I didn't do a thing.  The internet is so very impersonal.  Makes it easy for people to attack and forget that words can hurt.  From now on, I promise to just say You are big, you are mean, and your mama dresses you funny.

First, you asked about cliques ... and the preeminent clique is Scovie's clique. Follow the ways of Scoville Deville, for sure!

Second, I have some advice for you ... since your website is "better" than most pepper-related sites, and your social interaction is likely "worse" than most pepper-related folks - focus on your strengths, and minimize your weaknesses ... more services and features, less butt-hurt ...

Third, because your technical skills seem good, and you are finding yourself on the fringe of a group (again), and furthermore because you self-describe as a "gonzo, over the top journalist" or something like that and are hell-bent on the right-ness of things ... and because you are awake right now in the EST timezone and live in the middle of nowhere, you might be something on the Asperger-y continuum ... in which case you should figure that out and share w/ everyone so people can understand your drives/motivations a little better ...

I think that's all ...

And yeah, it's the internet ... which means even though I had an awesome time w/ a Wiccan girl for a while, I'm still going to have some fun w/ this ...

We're all like ...

Grantmichaels, funny thing that.  I used to write about something and call myself Wiccan.  Now I live that thing and call myself Catholic.  Yep, that is me. I used this pen name for the books on Wicca, I think seven.  My agent screwed up a book that went to Adams Media, gave them the A.J. Drew pen name.  So there is one book under that pen name on the subject of Motorcycles.

Those were fun times.  Lots of sex, alcohol, and pizza.  Had a party / convention in a hotel every year that inevitably turned into a poolside orgy.  Very different times now.  Today, its raise the kids, tend the domestics, and rescue the wild things.

I am NOT trying to covnert anyone, but with Jesus in my life I really do try not to be a bad person.  Again, not trying to covnert.  Be it God, Goddess, Jesus, Buddha, or Allah; as long as a person has the spark of love, I think thatis what is important.  My god daughter is devout Muslim, her father Wiccan, and me Catholic.  All is good, but I got Casino Nights.  Wooohooo....

Here is who I am now.  Dirty tree hugging hippie.

Grantmichaels, first thank you so very much for the compliment on the website.  On the psychological assessment, nope.  I can not be diagnosed with a psychological dissorder of any kind because the damage is organic.  When someone has a psychological diagnosis, it is something you can not see on an MRI.  Mine is visiable non-functioning brain cells.

You are agian right and I again welcome your friendship in addition to your opinions. Part of using the A.J. Drew pen name is being open about who I am and what I have become.  No way I can stop the hurt that I feel when people like MM accuse me of things I have not done, but I am going to do my best at not being public about the hurt.  I know, normal people do not feel that hurt at all or maybe they dont feel it as bad.  So I shouldn't expect people like MM to know how bad they make me feel when they accuse me of things.

It is my fault entirely.  I should have been like, OK what ever and moved on.  Its just that you people, this forum, you guys have been all I have had since getting out the hospital this time.  Stuck on a couch, feet in the air.  Wife working ovetime to pay the hospital bills.  Everone was so very nice and then smack.

Again, thank you for your understanding and compassion.
Uh ye, I like to watch the world burn but not that.  Dude, I am blind.

It's against my better judgment that I chime in. This quote, I think, is the problem. You have been on THP for 2 weeks & now the people on it are "all you have?" I don't think I need to state the obvious. I have spent hours and hours almost every day since joining maybe 10 weeks ago, but it's to gain a better understanding of peppers... not that my experience is any better or worse than yours.

I have met some great people here & the generosity & support found here it astounding. I grew up in the punk rock scene of the late 80s & was in bands from 1992-2004 that traveled all over North America playing in basements, sleeping in squatted buildings, getting fed by people who had nothing & doing it all just for gas money... but really doing it for the relationships built. We put out our own records & traded & sold them all over the world. If we needed a place to play in Minneapolis, we knew who to call & we'd do the same for them when they came through North Carolina. The pepper world has elements of community & cooperation that harken back to my times with the punk scene. It's refreshing. Certainly different but similar DIY ethic & "shirt off your back" mentality. I've traded tons in the past 2 months- going from seeds of 5 varieties to 250. I don't know how many times someone's said "I only have 4 seeds left, but you can have them all" & how many times I've done the same. Means a lot & something good to be a part of.

But, as much as its important for humans to feel a part of something, this can't be one's only social outlet... especially if it's just a world that you joined 2 weeks ago. I spend 90% of my time here (and it is extensive) reading glogs, pepper talk & growing threads, with a smattering of hot sauce posts & the like. I'm still very much feeling my way around & haven't spent much time on the more social threads. Occasionally, something catches my eye & I can't turn away. Grant's ship moving towards the hurricane image sums it up. A couple of weeks ago, it was the gun/military/ghetto thread that wouldn't die. Today, it was this one. Makes me kind of cringe. I'm on no one's "side," but I think it's best just to let it die. Focus on the peppers. Focus on the ducks. Better yet, focus on the family. I think you're a well-meaning guy. You told us you're "nice" a dozen or so times. :) Maybe take tomorrow off from THP? Let it pass. Spend time on other aspects of your life? Just some advice, worthless as it may be from a stranger. Take care, man.

Grantmichaels, that is so beautiful.  When my wife knows i am down, she posts critters to my facebook page.  Usually critters showing love for each other, something many say they can not feel.  I think the opposite, we human beings can certainly feel love but we much it all up with spoken language.  Something gets lost when a brian translates into language, then another brain translates it back into thought.  Critters do not have that barrier.  They just kind of love.

Not saying they don't bite, but even then there is a clear reason.  Not so much with humans.  OK, I will admit that some animals fling their poop at each other.  Kind of like politicians of the animal world.

As a matter of purest coincidence, and in all seriousness, I've been dipping my toes into punk for the first time in my life ...

I'm finding it tickles my anti-surveillance-state fancy better than most popular genres today ...

Coach - Uh ye.  I had foot surgery.  I am sitting on a couch with a lap top.  I sleep on the couch.  My wife works 12 hour nights trying to pay off the hospital bills.  That leaves me with two children for conversation and they ought to be asleep if not for the holiday break that just started.  Ye, if I could get out and about I would have lots of folk to talk to.  Can't, mostly stuck on couch.  If i get up and do things, my kids will turn me into my wife.

Funny part is that you sound like her, like my wife.  She is all like, why not have Steve (best friend in the world) come over.  I am like, cause i do not want Steve to see my pee bottle much less see me pee in a bottle.  <Joke Font> Are you saying your friends enjoy watching you pee in a bottle </Joke font>

Seriously guy, this forum is not my only social outlet.  It is my only adult conversation during the time I am stuck on a couch.  Well, again joke font, unless you wanna come over and empty my pee bottle.
Grantmichaels, what is pink?  Myself, I have been looking for some tat and a place to trade it for that other thing.

ajdrew,

Put the shovel down,  climb out of that hole and realize that you brought this upon yourself.  I normally don't chime in on stuff like this but you just keep diggin man, deeper and deeper.  The internet is not a place for sympathy IMHO.

Not trying to toot anyone's horn either but Buckeye Peppers is a top notch company.  Every seed I have planted from them was 100% true.  They will continue to get my business year after year.

Hot Pepper, you want to tell me what I said about his business that is both not accurate and not in the video I was talking about?

May I gently suggest you walk away from this thread.  :halo:
