sp33d DIY air prune pot grow glog 2014 (update 9-10-2014)

Ok I'm a newbie around here but figured I would create a glog to contribute...hope you enjoy and I will update it weekly ...hope I'm doing/setting up this glog the right way

Ok this is an all organic outdoor grow..yes I am an all organic gardener and landscaper but I do not preach like some do...grow whatever you want to as long as your growing something is my philosophy..
9- 5 gallon air prune pots, 1- 7-gallon air prune pot and 2- 20sh gallon pots
Pro mix HP with 20 lbs EWC and nutrient kit from buildasoil.com, all mixed and then cooked for a week under a tarp

Feeding will strictly be alternated every week between
Neptunes fish/seaweed emulsion
Tea brewed with EWC compost from my worm factory and bat guano

Watering and tea will be made and done strictly with rain water from my rain barrel

Strains in this glog are
Big daddy hybrid sweet yellow
Cherry pepper
Thai pepper
Mild jalapeño
Green habanero
Bananarama hybrid
Carmen sweet pepper
Chocolate moruga scorpion
Chocolate Trinidad scorpion
Chocolate Bhut jolokia
Yellow mini bell
Carolina reaper

Drilled 1 1/2" holes in 5 gallon pots for air pruning, lined with garden paper and covered with shelf liner to stop pots from heating up in sun

Pepper food
Worm factory for fresh EWC, bat guano both to make tea and alternate weekly with the Neptune's fish/seaweed emulsion

Rain barrel for water for the tea brewing and fish/seaweed emulsion..will strictly be using the rain water for all feeding and watering

Chocolate bhut jolokia

Mini yellow bell

Carolina reaper

Thanks bud...all of them except that scraggly lookin chocolate moruga scorpion...darn thing just stalled and looks ill with small wrinkled leaves...I don't do anything different as far as feeding it and it has the same soil and ferts... Maybe it will take off soon... ;)

Will do man, what will I be looking for?
you should be looking for little white specs that move, or anything that moves really, and try to see if the plant has mites.
also, when you say the plant gets the same treatment as the rest, do you also mean water, ferts, sun exposure ect....
if so then w can probably rule out nute burn, or lack there of nutes. if there is anything at all that you do differently with that plant then the rest what is it?

I took a look and nothing is there ...yeah I don't do anything different and it gets the same ferts, water and same soil...I just think when I topped it It didn't like it and it will eventually brighten up...I hope..

Just dropping in to post some general pics of my garden layout etc..I know everyone loves pepper/garden porn...
Enjoy....

So here is our buttercup and mescaline mix luttuce (harvested all the lettuce last night, fresh grilled chicken salad was soooo good), also our container cucumbers, strawberries and numerous herbs

Side shot of our plot...harvested the lettuce so we just have the cucumbers, strawberries and herbs up there for now ...in the garden we have 7 varieties of heirloom 'maters, cucumbers, potatoes, beans and various herbs...we are enlarging and raising the garden to a raised bed and adding irrigation next year

This is Bob my dwarf meyer lemon tree, have had him for about 4 years and usually get about a half dozen or so lemons a year..I over winter him with a 250w HPS..thinking about cloning him and starting a few more meyer lemon trees...

Couple more months and this baby will be ripe , we love to make lemon chicken or make a vinaigrette with the lemons we harvest from Bob...

Bob is a boss lol, what kind of strawberries do you have?

Thanks bud.... They are temptation strawberries... Big and juicy at harvest time...can't wait ..strawberry shortcake is one of my all time favorite desserts...:)

Nice setup with the vermicomposter and brewing bucket Tony. I made a cheapjack composter out of pallets that works for me, but it freezes in the winter and I have to add a couple of buckets of green chicken manure when it thaws in the spring to "relight" the pile. Yours can just keep working away in the basement all winter...

Did you have your peppers under the HPS light along with the Mayer Lemons? It looks like you had to top some of them because they got leggy.  Keep 'em green bro'! :)

man your glog keeps getting better and better, all these other awesome plants as well as your peppers.
i have three fruit trees, never get to see any fruit though, damn wild animals eat it before i can get it, i have a plum tree, apple tree and a cherry tree, the cherry tree is sickly looking and doesnt produce anything, its been there for 5 years now and barely makes it through the winter lol

I'm a little late but on that chocolate moruga I suspect broad mights or thrips. fast and hard to see lil buggers. i would hit it with a neem treatment

Yeah man the worms are my little army of black gold producers.. :) I would love an outdoor compost pile but not enough room... No didn't have any peppers under the light last year but this winter I have a new 6.5'x6.5'x6.5' grow tent and a 600w HPS so I will have some peppers years round now.. :) thanks for the kind words bud

Thanks man... :)... Yeah only reason I get lemons is because I over winter it with a nice light..citrus trees are awesome

Done and done.... I think it took the potting up and topping a little rougher then the others.. Thanks for the input though my friend.. :)

Well might sound a little weird but does anyone have separation anxiety or maybe that's not the right term for it but always thinking about your pepper plants when your gone for a few days from home?

Thanks for joining the ride man...well I bought the drum and had to modify it with a overflow discharge and screen on top to screen out the leaves etc...I have a hose for it as well and water all the front yard landscaping, but it has to be full to be able to use the hose for enough pressure ..if not I just fill a watering can with the rain water...thanks again man..;)

If you could smell it when I opened it you wouldn't be hungry...:) well it's not horrible but it's not exactly smelling like a ribeye steak..:)

Well here is an update for my THP friends....my plants are growing good and looking good....only one that is giving me trouble is the chocolate moruga scorpion..it just slowed down on me after I potted up and topped it...I was gonna water today but we are expecting rain tonight/tomorrow so I'm holding off on watering

Cherry peppers..loaded with flowers (kinda hard to see ,sorry)

Carmen sweet pepper, can see some of the flowers popping

Chocolate Trinidad scorpion, picking up speed after the topping

Anyone have any ideas on the stunted chocolate scorpion? Like I said it gets the same rain water, nutes, soilless mix, pot etc...I have checked for bugs, nothing....I have treated for fungus, I have treated for insects....it just doesn't seem to want to grow...

Could I just have a runt?

It might just be the weather Tony... we've had a very wet, cool spring and early summer. My Chinense and Frutascens peppers just perked up a couple of weeks ago when the nights got up into the upper 50s and low 60s consistently. Once they're happy with growing conditions, they'll start to reach for the sky.

How's the hydro experiment going? Any chance of pics? :)
