The Drunken Chef

Hey ya'll once again from the big dry ditch of Las Vegas. I had picked up some beautiful chix I wanted to deep fry but soon discovered I didn't have enough oil. Why not just drive down to the local grub store and buy it you ask? BECAUSE I WAS PISS DRUNK!! Alrighty then. I grab the bottle of Hornitos tequila and ready myself to begin the destruction. I fire up the cast iron dutch oven and just start throwing stuff in. Olive oil. Garilc. Julieanned shallot. Chix thighs. Gets a little blurry here but I somehow managed to debone the thighs without chopping off my leg but then all good cooks should be able to pull that off. The vast majority of experienced kitchen rats and riffraff cook much better after a bottle of wine or three. Those of you reading this keep that little kitchen tip in mind, especially when family from out of town is around. If the wife is chewing your ass the next day for your drunken lewd and lascivious behavior in the kitchen the previous night, then you know you must have made a helluva meal and did it right.

Continuing on, I soon missplaced my shot glass and decided to dispensed with it all together. Why should tequila have to go through a middleman anyway. Liquors quicker straight from the bottle. I discovered I had a stash of dried pequins from last season and bada bing bada boom in they went. Same with some forlorn looking button mushrooms. Whirring and stirring with a spoon in one hand and the bottle of firewater in the other, why not deglaze the pan with tequila? Excellent idea! Might as well get rid of the rest of the hab salsa I made the other day. In that goes, adios baby! Add some seasalt and cracked black pepper. Whir and stir. Taste. It tastes like burning. Nice.

Somehow during this culinary rampage I managed to take a few pics.

The beginning of the end...

I can't be sure but I think I ate it with tortilla's but who can say. This morning as I looked at the devastation in the Blues Kitchen I reckoned that were I to detonate a hundred pounds of C4
in the middle of it I would only cause about $21.47 worth of damage. Mrs. Blues was not amused but and well acquainted with my late night shenanigans. Ahhh marital bliss.

Now that I have started this thread, I call on all you THP drunks, sots, and gin blossomed heathens to keep it going. Pics are mandatory and it goes without saying that rule number one is...YOU MUST BE DRUNK WHEN COOKING!!

So get the divorce papers ready, get your favorite bottle of liquid stupid and get cookin' ya'll!

Cheers, TB.

I received my Heartbreaking Dawn Barbecue sauces yesterday and was able to try them out tonight!

Drumsticks and Pork Cutlets....notice the dog guarding the food....what a good doggie :)

Tried out both the Meridian and North Star Sauces. Both made a good glaze on the grill. Not much heat once grilled...but was tasty to dip in ;) Enjoyed them both.

Had to celebrate the Buckeyes tonight! I got the first shot in for the Buckeyes...ok wasn't a basketball shot ...but hey...this is the Drunken Chef Forum correct?...so a Tequila shot counts!

Finishing touch with some grilled jalapenos and onion!

GO BUCKEYES!

That's not awesome. What's melly mel's term? AWESOMETOWN! THAT'S what that is! I call it hot blue and righteous! -1 for the Cuervo. +10 for the doggy in the pic with the chix and beefage. Final score...MMC ROCKS!!

Well sportsfans...I overserved myself last night on the last of AJ's 7-pod in the Bang Bang sauce. Lit me up so much I couldn't take pics worth a crap but managed one....Bang Bang Shrimp Taco's....

Sardine's just may be the perfect healthy food. Excellent source of protein, calcium and more omega-3 than salmon. I eat them as pictured above every single day. I always get the packed in olive oil variety. (even more omega-3) Bluesdawg missylou and I have a ritual where I open a tin of 'deens and I drain off the excess oil into her goggy bowl. That makes for 2 happy campers.

Shrimps on a tortilla wit AJ's puree.....a firey marrige made in heaven!

Sardines.....yeah, good stuff with hot sauce, crackers, and some deli mustard!!

Cheap too at a buck oh nine a tin. Oddly my hab and pequin sauces don't match well with the deens. While lacking heat, the Crystal pairs up very well. Sriracha ain't bad either.

Made a Mexican rice for lunch and paired it with Tecate, because I'm a classy dame. Photo sucks - from my iPhone.

Used up the last of my Bru-Bru's hot sauce for this. :'(

Home alone this weekend. Spending it drunk and eating trashy foods. CHEERS TO EVERYONE.

EDIT: Well, the image was oriented correctly before I uploaded it... mybad, mybad. DEAL WITH IT.

Looks guud Marcie. I'd slap that rice on a corn tortilla topped with refrieds and cheese. Then again, every thing in my house eventually winds up on a tortilla.

True story.

You know, that's funny - I have refried beans and I have cheese. I even though to myself that it would make an epic burrito. But since we're rollin' here in the Drunken Chef, I think we all know I'm not going to be behind the wheel to get more ingredients.

I thought you were going to put the sardines in the wrap...then you'd really have something awesome.
Probably better with Kippered snacks though....

Sardine taco's! I can dig it. Need some filler to go with it though and not sure cheese would work well with sardines. NAH...just kidding. Cheese goes with EVERYTHING! I reckon flour tortilla's onions, garlic, and some peppers with the 'deens would be right as rain. Oh!...and sriracha!
