Pssh, you think you know destruction? I'm going to dominate so hard your seeds will wish they never even germinated!

(I gotta get my shit talking in now because I'm sure I won't have much to brag about come fall...  )

Haha same here.  Trash talk early before the big hitters start to post results!

Looking forward to learning a thing or two as this will only be my second season growing anything.

The battery acid soak and diesel ferts sounds like a great idea. I've also read from highly credible sources that watering regularly with a strong bleach solution is a great way to ward off pests and bacterial issues, especially while the plant is young.

And over-watering.  Don't forget to over-water EVERY day.

one tip i got was that C.chinense sprouts are REALLY sensitive to light. way more sensitive than baccatum, pubes, and annuums.

as soon as the sprout emerges and the coty's grow i give them a good watering and put them in a nice dark warm cupboard until AT LEAST the 2nd or 3rd pair of true leaves. :shh:

Another awesome germination tip-- instead of using a heat mat or any of that, give them higher temps in short bursts. Transfer seed to a cup about half-filled with water (so the seed doesn't accidentally dry out too much) and microwave on high for about 5 minutes. Repeat daily (or more often, if you're really in a hurry), and it will cut germination time drastically!

Also, a great tip for helmet heads. Soak q-tip in nail polish remover and apply liberally to said helmet head. After 2 or 3 applications that sucker will slide right off. It also helps to soak seeds in the remover before germinating to eleminate helmet heads altogether...

I think you're on to something. But wouldn't it be more effective to do like they do for removing fake nails and/or gel nail polish? Soak a cotton ball in remover, apply to the helmet head, and wrap the whole thing in aluminum foil. Having personally removed nail polish with a q-tip as well as cotton ball/foil soak, the latter requires much less work, plus the nail polish pretty much melts off. I don't see why it wouldn't do the same for the helmet head!

Edit: Also, make sure to use the pure acetone nail polish. The other additives in basic nail polish remover make it much less effective.

I've had great success (100% germination rate) by x raying the seeds at a level of 4.7kGy  to see which are most viable.

Never failed me

Yea, riiiight!    I tried soaking my throwdown seeds in the warm glow of a chunk of Trinitite a few years ago.  Alas, the envisioned atomic bomb energized Godzilla plant never quite materialized....
