They are white with a purple streak in the middle of each petal.

The straw was added to cover the landscape fabric which covers the row middles to shield it from the sun and also to some of the plastic mulch while the plants were small to shield them from the heat.

Thanks Ed, there are some ripe pods here and there that don't show in the picks, gotta get out there and start hunting.

Yeah, he got me wondering so I had to go outside and check. I had never really looked that closely at it, it's pretty cool the way the streak runs longways and looks like a perfect rectangle running down the center.
