GA GH's Garden 2013

Seeing people already starting seeds gave me the bug. & I just didn't think watching our southern hemisphere friend's grows was going to fill that void. As my season comes to an end, i needed to do something. What? I am not sure, but here i am.

Thanks Ramon! Glad to see you back and in full swing!
Just got soon plants out this weekend. Took some out last weekend for a few hours of shade, but now have around thirty dealing with elements.
I am really looking fowaed to the bahamian goat. Can't wait to try that one with all i have read on it's flavor. All the others are really coming on. Started some more potting up work that i need to finish today now that i have more room inside. Need to separate a bunch as well. Starting to grasp the numbers that i have of each, which helps in deciding what gets kept for the garden or pots.
Thanks for stopping in!

Thought i would share this.
I emptied out all the soil/coir mix from the cells for what was left that didn't germinate into an empty soil bag. When i refilled the trays to start other veggies, i top dressed with this mix. This week I have had two seeds pop up in the trays from the mix. One i moved out already. And then yesterday i though i would use this bag to catch the soil as i am potting up some peppers. The bag was sitting on the back porch, so i went to grab it and thought i should look inside to see if any seeds had crack.
Well... i found five spouts. The longest at 3", the smallest just a tap root sticking a half of an inch out. So of course i stuck them in sone dirt.
Here they are with their yellow haven't gotten any light yet leaves.

So my first mystery plants of the season. And now i got to keep them to see what they are. Damn it.

Here is a group shot of some outsiders! Keeping them somewhat shaded below the trays with my veggie starts.

Jason, them plants are really cruising now. Got a ton of em for sure lol! Can't wait to see this Glog with some pods. I bet you'll be able to update the whole year without showing the same pod twice.

Just caught up on your grow. I cant believe I missed so much. You have a great variety growing. This glog is going to be more great when those pods start popping. I love it when you discard the non shows just to look again and have a ton of seedlings. That is happening to me almost daily. I have eight hooks right now and no idea what they are.

Thanks Jamison, You and me both on seeing pods. I do have some buds on the orange thais, so won't be long for the first flower to open!
I will try not to do two many repeat shots, but I'm sure those first few pods of each kind will get many claims to fame.
I need to get on it! and make room for the mild/sweets! I have many plants, but lined up plenty of good homes for all the extras. That being what i can't fit in somewhere around the house. To many that i want to hold on to for sure!

Well... i got some mysterys for sure now. I wish i knew what they were so i dont have unneeded extras. Sitting in the warm sun got them to pop. If i could pull that off in early jan, that would be awesome. But not happen temperature wise. Thanks for stopping by Pia.
Going upload some more picts soon. Been separating and potting up. Busy busy!

I know what you mean, I also grow attached to my plants and its hard to give em away for sure. I've been seeing all sorts of buds popping up everywhere on my plants and I think its the Big Bloom I've been feedin em. Not sure if I'm happy about that. I'd rather see them start flowering about a month from now.

Great story on the five little surprises! Will be cool to see what they turn out to be. Your "outsiders" look great! Uniform in density and height. Is that some early branching on the Chaguanas and Barrackpore I see?

It's cool when you start seeing the plant making buds, especially the first ones of the season. Really gets me energized to keep working on them, like fert schedules, up-potting ,etc.

The 5-leaf clover is awesome! Clover is an odd plant. Almost always three, now a five. But you never see four. OK, that was a groaner. Must be the 0-dark-thirty time and a coffee deficiency.

Anyway, looking awesome, my friend!

Very nice plants Jason!

, Vegas
Thanks Vegas!

Thank you Brent. There is some branching, but only a few really trying. And speaking about branching...
I want bushy many branched plants this year for sure. Thinking about pruning/topping/stick figuring/stripping/deforesting most of the plants i know get large in advance. Have hit a few already. Then top as needed ad they are grow up. I really saw the effects at the end of last season as the first frost burnt the tips of some plants. In the two week that followed, before the next frost, some plants went off growing whole new shoot filled with flowers as the old growth was done podding up. :)
The outsiders looked good when i made it home. Slowing introducing them to Mr Sun. Hoping to having them out in full by the weekend and replace them with more outsiders.

Was overly stoked on the 5 leaf clover. Made my day, which was a good day regardless. Never found more than a four myself.
Hope you got some sleep somewhere in there! Thank you again for the compliments!
Throwing up some more picts to brighten your morning. Take care my friend.

[sub]Very nice! Best of luck with your 2013 growing season.[/sub]
Thanks Buddy! I have seen you get around. ;)

Ok.... a few picts cause i was bored.

Take care everyone!

While I love all the shots and updates, that skirt shot is very cool … “welcome to the jungle.” Great to read you are already hardening off, must have been dat clover luck, hehe … Can’t wait to see them all out full time, congrats on the early pod development :)

Awesome, Jason! Never heard of a Brown Egg before your grow and didn't know there was a Chocolate Barrackpore. Very cool. Once those little ones get in-ground in that Georgia sun, its a gonna be ON!

Question for you: Did your Variegatta have white flowers with a purple rim?

Hi Jay
When will you be planting outside, or will you?
Hey Rick,
Going to put most in the ground in the garden, and have some in containers too. After i get them all outside i can finish the indoor home and will keep a few of the ones in coir for the full on hydroponics attempt. Hoping to get pods inside and then continue pods thru winter.
Thanks for stopping by!

Thank you Ramon. Can't wait till they are all happy outside. Hope the budding doesn't stop, but enjoying see these first buds!
Glad you enjoyed that shot. I liked it, so had share it. :)

Hey Brent, They had the opposite color flowers. They were purple with a little bit of white on the edges. The ones i started are starting to show some purple on the first true leaves, much like i remember that one starting out.
I am really interested to see what the plant of yours produces. Hopefully something cool!
Not sure if the choc barrackpore is a cross or unstable, but excited to see what comes from it.

I can't wait to get things going! It's going to be an epic year!

Wow, Jason, very nice work! Respect!

You are going to be a busy guy this summer....
Thanks Gary! That is the plan! You reap what you sow, and boy did i sow this year. Thanks for stopping in!

Here are a few more shots...

Madballz 7. I cut its leaves early also for shadowing it neighbor.

Red brainstrain. Actually from a yellow brainstrain plant that produced red pods. Nice flavor and hotter than the yellows! Will be interesting to see if these grow out the same.

Yellow 7 large. These were way up on my list last season. Not as hot as the reg yel.7s, and a bit different taste, but amazingly delicious. I pulled two out of the freezer last week. Diced finely. Added to some hamburger meat and thru on the grill for me and my buddy. He is still talking about those burgers. These peppers rock!

You got the bump brother.

I'm growing the Large 7-pot yellow for the first time this year, and your assessment of it is making me eager to see how they come out here.
