  • Sprouts taken outside in boxes which the wind promptly turned over and scattered before I could get back out there. Now we'll have a game of Musical Sprouts. Good times.

I don't mind except that some varieties require larger pots than the others. Guess I'll be getting more large pots for just-in-case! You know, I'll know which are which once pods start.

Ok, how in the heck did a label for a young male bird get turned into a description of a preparation method??? Never mind that. Here, thought you'd like to read this article, especially focusing on the picture of the breadcrumbs and the article about the significance of that picture. http://www.seriouseats.com/2010/05/how-to-roast-a-chicken-butterflied-tips.html
I will still forever call it "butterflied" instead of "spatchcock"…..

Ha! I understand... but don't ask me! Spatchcocked chicken is a little like saying "young male chickened chicken".

I've been rescued do to members like you my friend!! :) :)
Dust in the wind / All we are is dust in the wind. You went through so much, Tony. I hope that, if even but for a moment, you felt that you were loved. That you were rescued yet still met a tragic end is heartbreaking.

No, the 21-year old adopted son of one of my cousins. He was born of a woman who abused drugs and alcohol while pregnant - he had FAS when born. She used to put out her cigarette butts on his skin, rarely fed him and let others sexually molest him. He was taken from her and passed between 9 foster homes before my cousin adopted both him and his younger brother. She and her husband were patient in showing him that the life he had known was over, but he never really put it fully behind him, and...
I just want what I want, the way I want it. "They" don't have to understand, they just need to make it for me. I'm a consumer, what else did they expect?

I am so sure that if MacGyver were around today, HE would figure out how to make it happen!

Ah, well….. guess I'll just have to make do looking at my little green gals coming up from their cottony homes. They're so cute!

Tonight I dropped off my small CI skillet at a friend's house. He's going to run it through the cleaning cycle of his oven to remove the existing seasoning for me. Then I'm going to bring that baby BACK TO LIFE! So looking forward to getting it back!
So wishing I could breathe normally again RIGHT NOW. Hm…. saying that out loud didn't magically work. Go figure! LOL

Thanks guys. I'm not sure, but I think this is still left from the flu. I've been fighting various bugs for 5 weeks now, though, and it's getting a little old. Though, I can't complain too hard as I'm not dying or anything worth any drama.
Yesterday ended at PepperLover +2/-3, Geeme +4/-0. Today it's PepperLover +4/-3, Geeme +7/-0. P is at 50%, G is at 100%. She's got 2 weeks to catch up!

JeffH - The reference to canola was really just a light jab at all the "traditional" claims that more "solid" fats are somehow better. Yes, even veggie oil polymerizes better than those "traditional" fats, as do grape seed oil, etc.

I always wondered why an "international CI society" existed. Must be to keep the myths alive. Anyone still want to drape the word "tradition" onto out-dated, obsolete info? HA!

    Quoted from Lodge's website:
"To Soap or not to Soap...

If no soap is too scary, wash with mild soapy water and dry and oil immediately. However, consider that cookware is 400ºF in 4 minutes on medium heat and is sterile at 212º F, so soap isn’t always necessary.

Dishwashers, strong detergents and metal scouring pads are not recommended, as they remove seasoning."
Woke up to find my phone dead. Plugging it in had no effect. Solution? Take the battery out, wait 30 secs, put battery back in. Now imagine that's your car in an emergency situation. Are you really ready for that?

Able eye, you've never driven a Toyota. Those things have funky electrical systems. Car left me stranded at work at 10:00 at night.. wouldn't start. Disconnected the negative on the battery, reconnected, started right up.
Some days being the Security Master Admin is no fun. Tomorrow will be one of them. Le sigh...

Qualifying for nationals was the easy part. So much for "just going to have fun" - I am definitely competing now! Still, nice to have a night off with nothing to do. Think I'll go to bed extra-early.

The hit gift I gave to the guys this year was Michael Symon's "Carnivore". The looks start as unenthused "oh joy, she got me a book" to that joyous twinkle in the eyes as they hungrily flip through the pages, envisioning themselves cooking every single recipe from cover to cover. WIN!
