Titan arum just went nuts on root production. Looks like it's not planning on sleeping anytime soon.

Help diagnosing problems (e.g. "What sorcery is this?!?!")

If you have a microscope or good glass, check for mites. Also add calcium+magnesium.

Flowers - which way do they point?

They point up later. Same on Sunrise Scorpions.

    Root shock lasting too long.

Yeah, I didn't water them before transplanting this time and a good bit of dirt did leave the root ball.

    F@#$ing broad mites

I kill broad mites with sulfur fungicide for the most part. The dust dries them out pretty quickly.

    Root shock lasting too long.

I replanted everything into large pots about three weeks ago, and they promptly got sunburned. That happens every year, but it's been three weeks and they haven't entered a phase of explosive growth to get their leaves back. Temps have been high seventies to low eighties, partial sun, not much...

    Pruning Pepper Suckers

Peppers produce suckers? If suckers means the baby plants from the roots, I've never seen that in nearly six years of growing.

Anyone have Solanum pyracanthum or know where to get them?

Sounds like your parents knew the only proper way to grow them, which is by having someone else take care of it.   But yeah, that's why I intend to have it in a pot indoors with more than enough room to walk around it. It wouldn't be the nastiest plant I've run into though.

Anyone have Solanum pyracanthum or know where to get them?

I was going to buy some S pyracanthum, then I remembered I saw some being grown by people here. Anyone have some for trade or extras by any chance.

Bugs are back, so me too. First is a sweat bee that finally stood still enough for a picture. The bee is solid green, any yellow in the appearance is it reflecting my red camera. I had to sit on the hive to get it, which is a very bad idea if you happen to be dealing with almost any other kind...

EnChroma Glasses, "color for the colorblind"

Luminol glows by itself with blood, doesn't it? Blood glows under UV by itself, but you'd still need a good eye to see it.     The world looks kinda interesting. Not that much except for this webpage though.

EnChroma Glasses, "color for the colorblind"

It would probably be easier just to stick a UV bulb in a flashlight and use that if you're hunting.

Sweet potato as ornamental / office plant

Sweet potatoes are a kind of morning glory, so their flowers are nice too.

    My carnivorous plants [Pictures heavy]

Do you deal with Sarracenia? Mine are waking up now and I'm not sure if I should prune them or not to make room for their newer pitchers. Seeds apparently are kinda bean shaped. And yeah, this one's gonna be a giant. It's a foot tall now and has a second leaf coming up that doubles in size every...
