    Rooting through fabric bags question

For the past two years, I've used root pouches on bare ground.  I hadn't had to move them around too much, but there were times when I did have to move them and they had grown roots in the ground.  They never showed any signs of shock by me picking them up, even when some roots snapped off.  If...

Unusual insects in the garden thread

Yep, we have green bees here every summer.  They seem to be the type of bee that is most interested in my pepper plants.

    Compmodder26's 2014 Grow Log - Supers ripening

Consider yourself lucky Chuck.  I've got aphids all over my peas right now.  But luckily I've been spotting some ladybugs and their larvae, as well as A LOT of lacewing eggs.  So I'm letting the aphids go for now so that I can foster the beneficials more.

Morning check before heading to work, found this

No, that is not the norm.  Now I'm not going to say that never happens.  I've not personally experienced it before with pepper plants.  But I have had the occasion with zucchini.  Usually an unpollinated female flower on a zucchini plant will shrivel up and fall off.  But I have had some...

favorite What is your favorite Baccatum Chili and why?

My experience with baccatums is rather limited, but of the ones I've had, I REALLY love Orchids/Bishop Hats.  They have that wonderful sweet/creamy flavor that I get out of most baccatums.  And while they are relatively small for a stuffing pepper, the fact that they can stand upright lends...

    Compmodder26's 2014 Grow Log - Supers ripening

Went to the garden today to check on the plants.  Still seeing steady growth on most of them.  Some are still a fair bit yellow, so I'm thinking I will give them a bit of a boost in the next few days.  I am excited that my Bishop's Hats are starting to pod up.   Left sub-plot:   Middle...
