Without any doubt yes it does.
Some of the superhots best producing year is their second, over wintering gives slow growers a big head start. Just don't be over aggressive when cutting the plants back for winter.

I had never thought ginger and fresh grated beetroot would work so well but it was great in dumplings.
LOL I should be using ginger as much as possible, I've had arthritis for 2/3 of my life and its supposed to be good for it.

Never knew Buddhist Vegan food existed until I ended up in a great yum cha Buddhist Vegan restaurant. Great food, ended up cooking some beetroot&ginger steam buns last night to celebrate the new find
I have a few 4-5 year old plants that are going strong.
My dorset and fatalii are 5 years old with my BT Scorp around 4-5 years old.
Bellow is my 4-5 year old Bih, as far as I know its still growing at my old rental.
Moving plants to an area that has a wind break also makes a big difference, plants out in the open are putting more energy into firming up their structure.
Also a shaded area like next to a fence will provide a moist micro climate along with radiant heat later in the day.
Dorset Naga is a winner for stand alone taste. It's unique or at least my taste buds think so
Fatalii's nice but its very similar to so many other yellow pods.... :shh:
A slice of Dorset, blue cheese and fig jam on a cracked pepper crackers is so nice.
But then Scorp's with garlic and ginger...
Mezo,
Try to keep the plants out of the direct weather in the winter period, say under a veranda or awning. I'm guessing you'd be a good bit cooler down at Wollongong than here and I have problems with really cold periods of the year.
Hab seem to die in winter around here Central Coast...
I think jungle rains on the mark, cooler weather less water needed and not enough sunlight :)
Superhots are slow growers, keep that in mind when comparing to prior seedlings.
Hope they work out for you :)
Hippy calls them a blonde fatalii, same taste but start out that lime creamy color then turn yellow. They aren't fat like the fatalii's but they do get waves in them, the burn and taste is exactly the same.
