No kidding! personally 1/4 fresh orange hab with seeds and all is way more then I can handle. I can't even imagine anything hotter.... I think they are best used for hot sauce where a mix of other ingredients and the heat from cooking lowers the heat but to eat them fresh is insane... IMHO. I...

    cooking with habanero

I just made a dry rub habanero steak. Put lots of habanero powder on it and put it in the pan. Holy Sh@t the fumes coming out was insane. I had to run out the kitchen every 10 seconds to catch my breath. The fumes was so bad I had to eat my steak in the living room. I'm still coughing and it's...

    Paprika

I was under the impression that the real paprika was made by either the cayenne type pod or the apple shape alma paprika pepper. I did a bit a more research on paprika and it's not quite that simple. It looks like a large number of peppers are used for paprika and it's a blend of the different...

    Pro-Mix plants light green

What do you use for fertilizer? Pro-mix has no or very little fertilizer so what ever you give them is the only food they get. In the garden and in top soil they get the dose of fertilizer plus what ever is in the soil.

    Mexican oregano ( Lippia graveolens)

Mexican oregano is a general name for several plants, all of which have a strong oregano flavor: Poliomintha longiflora, Lippia graveolens, and Monarda fistulosa var. menthifolia. These are probably the most common but there are others. You should try Poliomintha longiflora, it is used in...

    Trimming the monster

Paul, It appears that the size of the roots are proportional to the size of the plant. So try trimming the roots at the same time you trim somes branches to keep the plant smaller.

    determinate/indeterminate

Is there such a thing for peppers? Determinate are varieties that ripen all their fruit in a short period, usually about 2 weeks. Once this first flush of fruit has ripened, the plant will begin to diminish in vigor and will set little to no new fruit.
