Go for the seed option! nothing like watching those first seedlings pop up! sprinkle the soil surface with cinnamon to avoid damping off which is heart breaking!
Tulle (ballerina netting!) works best for me! Im using meters upon meters of the stuff! when you spot a nice juicy unopened flower, cover it in tulle, then when you see the baby pod, remove the tulle and tag the pod/pods, saves making 100 cages!
That happened to me! I gave this guy a Dorset Naga to eat (did not see with own eyes!) and apparently his response was 'mmmmm' thought it would be hotter!
I'm going to try some chilli hanging baskets next year, I think Bulgarian teardrop would make a good hanging basket
