Well, I never posted any update it seems, but the engine on the FZ died. But rather than tuck my tail and walk away, I got another FZ6 and have since put on about 1300 miles on it. I was dreaming about riding towards the end of deployment!

Someone on my ship is from Sugarland, TX. Is it that time of year again? I'm almost cringing. Go Redskins!

Honestly, that makes it harder! I will only buy one species. Will it be my favorite, P. cambrigei, or another new one I have never owned. S. calcaetum or H. maculata are up there in my choices. So is a nice Poecilotheria....

Nothing. Being deployed gives you a get away from everything free card (just about). I did buy my Mom a nice meershaum jewelry box that has a very nice design carved into it.

Wow, two at 1.5 miles. Before that, it was a Canadian with a single kill at 1.5 miles I believe. Either way, it's definitely some impressive shooting!

Thanks for posting the link Dick. Those are amazing photos. Being in today's Navy, I couldn't imagine how hectic something like that would be. It seems like things get hectic here and there for us, but it is nothing in comparison to those scenes.

...from Haifa, Israel! How's everyone doing? We're STILL deployed (we haven't been out here that long, just our schedule is quite accelerated) to the Mediterranean. At least this beats being deployed to the Persian gulf...if that were the case I'd be boarding dhows all day for 7 months...

Yea, we're at it again! I think we are legitimately the most underway ship in the Navy right now. Unfortunate for my personal life, but it's great for getting qualified. Should have my SWO pin shortly after we get back home. I will have already had my board, I just have to attend a school...
