seeds Burpee 72 Cell Seed Starting Greenhouse Kit

I bought the Jiffy brand 72 cell kit at the local nursery. $10. It does not have the raised watering matte like Burpee and it does not come with potting soil. Another $5. It has been sitting on a heating pad for five days. I'm using a meat thermometer and the soil temp is around 80°. I hope all...

Distilled vs. Purified vs Deionized Water for pH test

My pH tester says use distilled water for calibration. The buffer powder says use deionized water. Will purified water work just as good?  They all have their differences.

    small-appliances Hot sauce dispenser

Do you know the brand and model?  How easy is it to clean?  I'm looking at a 3 gallon (84190 Syrup Server, SS, 3 Gallon, Spigot, 120 V) that looks interesting.  $400.

    small-appliances Hot sauce dispenser

Right now, I blend up my hot sauce and pour it into 5 ounce bottles with a funnel one by one. It is tedious and ergonomically wasteful. I was thinking of dumping the hot sauce into a hot water dispenser – Or something equivalent - that can keep temperatures around 180°– with a spigot to make...

    Large capacity blender

Right now I'm using the Vitamix 7500 blender which is great. It pulverizes pepper seeds and anything I put into it.  But it has a 64 ounce capacity. Is anyone using a larger capacity blender – 1.5 gallons or more? Vita mix makes an XL – 1.5 gallons for $1550 but I don't know much about it and it...

labels My Hot Sauce Label - Sister Verona

I am right now just looking to create a local niche at the many bars and grills around my neighborhood.  For the name, I just wanted something unique and memorable.    As far as I'm concerned, Sister Verona is all fiction.  It is not a picture of an actual person I ever knew.  I could have...

Sister Verona was principal at my grammar school and was quite mean. That's about the only story behind the name. I did not know that there are testers here on the forum. I'd like more info on that.  I still need a health department sanctioned kitchen to become legitimate. I give away/sell a few...

    Green Cayenne Hot Sauce ?

That's an interesting thought and I like it. I'd have to modify the grill so the peppers don't fall through but I don't think that would difficult.
