indoor 6 month old indoor scotch bonnet

Tell your plant to bust out some squats.  It'll get sick gains from all that protein it's planted in.  :D

    The controversial pepper

Technically; not even in the country they are issued in, but this stuff rarely goes to court.  The Red Savina was the only chile I know of to ever hold protected status in the US and the owner of that one let it lapse once he realized it wasn't remotely enforceable.  There's a reason you only...

    Got Grapes ?

If it is a standard variety, it might be too old or too young to produce.  If it is a wild grape variety, they come in male/female and require the other nearby to produce, just like various fruit trees.  Most standard varieties are self-pollinating like peppers, though they are much less prone...

    Got Grapes ?

Don't forget you can eat the leaves, too.  Good stuff.

    Does my plant look ok?

It's probably lonely.  You should grow more.  Better seed like 50, just in case 49 don't germinate.  Trust me.

How in the world did this happen?

Better yet, sometimes your friends will forget you have a disease and foolishly make the mistake of saying something like:  "My wife would kinda like to try growing a plant.  Can you bring us something mild?"  Next thing they know, the doorbell rings and their front porch looks like a scene from...

Major screwup and lesson learned...what are these insects?

Try posting the pics to imgur or another freebie solution like photobucket, then linking.  I keep a free imgur account around specifically for hosting forum pictures.  Takes two seconds to drop things in, then copy/paste the forum friendly link for that image into a post.  Preview your post...

Storing seeds in baseball card sleeves?

Someone threw away my whole seed collection this past year while trying to clean up my kitchen, so I started storing them in tiny ziplocs inside baseball card holders in a binder.  Mine are currently tabbed by year.  Within each year they are alphabetized by base name, then color:   7-Pot...

Which shapes/colors are dominant and recessive?

My time in the US South seems to indicate that "round" is by far the dominant shape.  As to color, blonde is definitely recessive because all the natural ones seem to have been bred out of existence.   Peppers?  Oh.  Carry on.

    New Grower this year

Welcome.  I use Imgur for image hosting.  I'm out of the seeds at the moment, but if you will remind me via PM around May to mail you some Trinidad Perfume seeds, mine should have podded up by then.  You can grow them late or start some next year.  They're pretty much exactly what you're after. ...

[Feb 27] What are you working on this week? Group activity log

Trotting off to the store for some wettable sulfur, because the Forest Ocean I put my seedlings into this year obviously came with a healthy dose of broad mites.  :(  (The one problem with starting early in a grow tent is that every plant pretty much immediately gets whatever any one plant...

    bubblegum?

The true pheno yellows are dead equivalent to a standard 7 Pot Yellow in heat level, from my experience.  Slightly less heat than a bhut, but occasionally a tad hotter.  I love them.  The reds grow up into strawberries of doom and mine tended to hover slightly above red bhut level heat.

video Video reviews - unexpected reactions.

I've yet to meet a yellow pod that can do any damage to me at all.  It's part of why I love yellow varieties so much.  Chocolates are usually not too bad, either.  But for some reason, whole red pods often wreck my stomach.  Even something as mild as a red bhut can sometimes cause cap cramps...

216 watt (65 actual) led grow light

As a general rule, most storebought prefab 300W LED fixtures will cover a 2' x 2' space effectively and lose a lot of light outside of 2.5 feet.  Larger ones often throw off more light, but don't have a much better footprint.  Best move for a 4' x 6' area would probably be to DIY an LED...

When do you eliminate your multiples?

I only cull once the plants start to crowd each other and I have run out of room for more plants.  At that point, I pick the strongest 2 and give the rest to people who are willing to take them.  I generally start asking people in January if they'd like a pepper plant once I start giving them...

    Hangjiao (Chinese space chili)

The two I grew were definitely different both in look and in flavor, but they all originated from some sort of cayenne so they remain similar.  I think the originals were just a slightly larger cayenne that had resulted from previous experiments on either a Russian or Chinese satellite.  I...

    Hangjiao (Chinese space chili)

I checked and the HJ6 Pulsar was indeed the 2nd variety I grew that year.  So I can vouch for the Helix Nebula and Pulsar being worth growing and great producers.  If you grow one of the others and like it, remind me to beg seeds off of you at the end of the year.  :)
