So, I feel this month I am unworthy of truly getting in on the 4th of July Throwdown as I just don't have that much stuff planned as other people are bringing food as well, but, here is what I am grillin up to Celebrate our Nation.
All the while drinking a great American Beer.
First, a jerk...
Welcome Neighbor.
I agree, this year has been a little rough down here. We went from an extended period of nice temps, to all out Heat way to quick. I've had pod drop like crazy with all plants this year, as well as more aphids this spring than I have ever seen before. Good luck to you. Maybe...
I'm growing "Thai Dragon" right now and it looks nothing like that. It grows a ton of upward pointing Chili's and resembles an Angry Medusa pepper to me.
that also doesn't look anything like my Aji lemon. My Aji's have small little bumps all over the chili's.
Now I don't care what's in it, you're in the lead now. Dutch ovens can make a pile of Yeti dook taste amazing, so it should do a killer job with Bigfoot's penis. I too am breaking out the Dutch oven today, except mine will be for a spicy apple pie.
The Gardening page I saw it on originally is no longer up and running. I couldn't find it in a quick search, but if I do, I'll post some links. I want to say the place that was doing it was somewhere down south. Maybe Florida or Georgia somewhere. It's been a few years since I saw the pics, but...
Here is what the Az dept of Agriculture says. Straight from their page. There is a number at the bottom you should call and ask.
Can I bring my houseplants with me when I move to Arizona?
Yes, but houseplants transported into Arizona must be free of insects and in a commercial potting mix...
They do look more like Fresno's than my Purira's. Your peppers are much more green than mine ever were when unripe. Good luck with them, they look productive and should be tasty.
The funny thing with immigration law is, our law is almost identical to existing Kali law. Your officials just...
It's a depressing gloomy grayness that Southern Kalifornistan gets around June. Sometimes it goes through July. Basically you don't see the sun for a while and everything is a weird Gray color.
Sometimes the sun Burns it off in the afternoon and you get a few hours a day of sun, but other times...
Definitely true on the Heat causing peppers to be hotter. I grew some Anaheim's a few years back that the summer pods literally cause the skin in our mouths to peel. It was like a full mouth Exfoliant of sorts. The later pods from it that didn't mature in the summer heat were normal Hot...
If they go from green to yellow, to purple, to orange then Red I would guess purira. They look a whole lot like mine do except a little greener.
One of my puriras has heat like you describe, the others are much less than jalapenos.
I so don't miss the June Gloom. That got old when I lived in...
I've noticed that my 7pods are by far the most sensitive to everything. To much water, to little water, to much Nutes, Not enough Nutes. Little bastards are never happy. They hate bugs more. Everything else just rocks along no issues.
Here is a shot of the final product to show the consistency of it.
Trust me the blender killed any salsa look or consistency.
Next time I am going to drop one can of the Mater sauce and use 1 more tomato. There is just a bit to much mater sauce flavor to it for me.
I think I am also going to...
Take halibut or Flounder and drizzle a little lemon juice over it with light salt, pepper, Garlic powder and Ancho powder. Let it sit for 5min. Wipe over fillet's with olive oil and place on grill. I also use Mesquite smoke when doing these. Grill till it is still moist but just starting to...
Oh, I know it's Red Japs. Most people just now this kind of sauce as a Sriracha style, so I went with it. The kind my buddy brings me back from Thailand is real close to what I did, except not quit as tomato tasting. I Usually don't put fresh maters in, but had tons of extras from the garden...
So, I had a good sized harvest of Thai Dragon, and Thai sun chili's, so I made up some Sriracha sauce THAI -MATER GOO!!! with them.
Here are all of the fresh Ingredients.
1 Medium Shallot
1 medium-small red onion
3 Tomatos from the garden
and a big head of Elephant Garlic.
and the Thai's...
Bricking them was fun, along with the grubs that I gave the same treatment to, until my wife asked me "WTF are all of these crusty green and brown spots on the wall"?
yeah, no more bricking them.
My guess would be yours bean poled like that with Huge leaves due to wanting more light. Mine always grew like that when I had them in window sills inside. I bet if it went outside any new growth would show tighter node spacing and much smaller leaves.
I hope you guys get some Black Nagas. That...
I hand pick them and set the little bastards up on my block wall for the birds to get. I usually make it to my patio and the wall is covered in grackles fighting over them. Nothing more satisfying than seeing them torn apart...
