I would like to make my own Pimentos for Pimento cheese. The process I understand, however I need to know if there are other type peppers I can use. I am growing Lesya peppers now, medium sized pods with really thick flesh & a super sweet flavor. Has anyone made their own Pimentos from...

organic-growing Review of Therm X-70 Yucca Extract.

I was searching for a better spreader to use with Nu Film 17 sticker. What I found was much better than what I was hoping to find. Fist thing I noticed was how much better the Back pack sprayer performed. A better spray pattern, easier pumping & just a though rinse to clean the rig. I...

    health What is this?

I first noticed this on 2 Aji pancas & 2 Antep Aci Dolmas then again on 2 Serrano's. It does not wipe off & not all leaves are affected. I have been using 2 Bio Fungicides from the beginning. It's not tiny insects, more like crystals. These 6 plants are the only one affected.

    Marturos 2024 Glog.

It's that time of the year, cold & gloomy outside, & inside the magic is happening. Those little green pepper plants are pushing up towards the artificial sun. Who came up first? The early Jalapeño, Serrano, & the Sugar Rush Stripy. A little game we play LOL. This is the best set up we...

misc Aji Panca vrs. Chili Chalaca?

Two seasons ago I grew Chili Chalaca to dry for use in Moles etc. The pic below is in late September & the pods are still dark green not brown. I picked the pods just before our first killing frost & let them sit spread apart in a warm dark back room. Although they did turn brown & dried...

    chinense Aji Charapita.

About the size of a Chiltepin with a beautiful yellow orange color, with a taste of fruit & flowers, it's hot but not more than a Cayenne. They are such a burst of flavor, we just toss them into everything whole. https://www.rareseeds.com/pepper-hot-aji-charapita

baccatum Did you grow Trepadeira Werner?

I grew this pepper this season because of the way it sounded, Looks like a cherry taste like a berry. It is a delicious & thick fleshed pod, with sweet tropical flavors & spice a little hotter than a Serrano. It's a keeper. https://www.rareseeds.com/pepper-hot-trepadeira-werner :pics:

    lighting Way too soon.

I put this under lighting because it seems to fit the problem best. Problem? Who knows. We moved to LED grow lights for this season after growing under 8' fluorescent lights for many years, we knew just when to start our plants. A few, pics to better understand our first LED grow...

lighting Trying to understand LED Grow lights.

For those of you who know me, I moved from Fluorescents to LED grow lights this season. Search as I may, the answers for growing pepper seedlings under LEDs is not so easy to find. The seedlings were started with the lights down to 14" above the coco coir pellet's & set to 50 percent...

    seeds-germination Chili Chilaca seed question.

I had a great crop of pods from 3 plants. When the plants were about to freeze I cut & hung them pods and all. Only 9 pods were ripe brown so I collected their seeds right off. After they dried I did not like the look of the seeds, so I did a Germination test & after 19 days I could see...

    issue Spots on Poblano.

I bought some Poblano seeds from Pine tree seeds last year. Out of 5 plants 2 were hit with pods that turned red & had green spots. I cut the 2 plants out due to a complete lack of vigor & the spots on the ripening pods. Out of the 3 left 2 plants have nice clear red pods & other one has...

    plant-i.d. What is this pepper?

I got a gift of seeds from a friend in NM of Chiltepins & Pequins. Out of the 4 Pequins plants I grew one has peppers that hang down instead of pointing upright. Both small fiery orange peppers look the same & taste the same. Has anyone seen this in Pequins before?
