Hey guys. Unfortunately dont have the space to grow this year but would love to buy some hot peppers. Anyone know a good place in Melbourne to pick up a bunch of different types to cook with?

They are goin mouldy even before they sprout, i can see it all over the seed. Can that be remedied by bottom watering? (doesnt the top of the soil need to be moist to sprout?)

Na im using a mister to spray the top of them, should you botom water even before they germinate?

Thanks guys, i stuck them under a 125cfl and their coming up nicely now. My next question now :) Is it to late to start germinating more seeds in Melbourne? I'm not having much luck germinating only getting about a 10% success rate, tried rockwool and had no luck then moved to coir pellets...

Would two of these lights be enough for the seedlings? http://www.onlinelighting.com.au/product_info.php?products_id=3196 Right now i have them under one of them, might get a second to go next to it.

Put an order in for a reflector and 125w CFL... Should help.

Light is about 1 inch from the plant, they are in seed starting mix... thanks guys

Hey. Well two of my bih jolokias popped a month ago but they seem to be growing quite slowly, is this growth normal for a month? They are under a 15w fluro fitting with a bunch of other seedlings. Is the light too small, or are they ok? Thanks

Hey. Well one of my Fatalis sprouted in a coir pellet and i noticed there is a little bit of white fluffy fungus on the seedling. Is there any way to get rid of it? Will it kill the seedling? I've taken it out of the mini greenhouse and put it under a fluro light, will the lack of humidity...

Thanks guys. Also, will seeds germinate just sitting on top of the rockwool? Ihave a few seeds i just placed on top (not in the hole), so i could germinate more than one per cube. Or can i stick 2 seeds down the hole?

Hey. Well i went to the local hydro store and picked up 30 cubes of rockwool, after having absolutely no success with germinating in soil and have loaded them up with 30 seeds. Problem is, i wetted the rockwool before i put the seeds in, but i just read that they have to be soaked to balance...

mmm been almost 4 weeks now but not having any luck still.. had bih jolokias pop up in under 2 weeks... but nothing else. Weird.

Might have to do that for my next batch, can fit alot more in at once! How often do you water them in a mini greenhouse? Is once a day to much? Also, should i soak them through or just give em a light misting?

Hey I meant jiffy pellets, sorry. How do you germinate so many at once? I was thinking about the plastic trays with like 50 spots, but the problem is that if one germinates early, how do u move the individual seedling under the light? (my light is not with my heat mat)

Using the debco, had the 7pot germinate after like 3 days... haven't seen anything else. Going to try another batch of seeds tonight, see how they go. What other medium do you recommend.

Damn, i put my 7 Pot under my fluro light all night as per AJ, and it dried out, wilted and died! These jiffy peat pellets dry out so quickly!, got any tips to keep them moist? Right now i just use a mister to keep them wet, but i think it just does the surface... Should i give them a good soaking?
