    smoking The Q is on!

Well it's about fricken time we get a weekend that's not cold, rain/snow mix, or just plain cloudy. It is a glorious day here in Minnesota! :onfire: I had to fire up the smoker and today's menu includes pork butt. This was about 4 hours into the smoke with another 4 to go. I'll pull it and add...

    Ok bug experts...

What are these things and how do I get rid of them? They just showed up the day before yesterday in force. They don't seem to be bothering anything but I need a way to get rid of them nonetheless.

    Trimming the monster

Ok so this might not be a problem but the Red Savina's in my hydro are 3+ feet tall. The problem is, if it is one, that the branches are getting so long that they are falling over and they don't even have peppers on them yet. So my question is can I trim these back a bit or should I try and...

Has anyone heard from Muso lately?

Just curious if anyone has heard from Muso lately. I won the Naga Morich auction back in June and I haven't heard a thing from him. I have sent emails via Ebay and a PM via this forum so far and have heard nothing. I don't want to trash the guys seller ratings or anything but I am closing in on...

    Smokey Boats

I made these tasty potatoe boats the other day when I was smoking a ham. You do need to have a smoker and a deep fryer for this recipe. Ingredients: 6 large baker potatoes Bacon Shredded cheese of choice Fresh chives (optional) Sour cream (optional) Salsa (optional) I poked a couple of holes...

    Upscale in Minnesota

These restaurants are where you can find more of an upscale atmosphere. We have quite a bit of fine dining here in MN but I have to kick this thread off with Kinkaid's in St. Paul, the only place in the state where you can get an Elk burger. (that I know of anyways).

    Italian in Minnesota

There's tons of good pizza up here but not that much good Italian. Here is one of my favorites though, Ciatti's in St. Cloud.

    Defcon 1 = Goood eatin!

Well I got a chance to try out some Def 1 today at lunch. I decided that I couldn't wait any longer so I tried it out on some chicken strips. I know, I know, but like I said, I couldn't wait anymore. Anyway... The sauce wasn't as hot as I expected but it did have some heat. The flavor was spot...

smoking Memorial Weekend - What's everyone got planned?

I for one will be smoking a ham this weekend, along with consuming copious amounts of beer. It's supposed to hit near 90f this weekend where I'm at so it's going to be a good weekend. Normally it's raining and around 50f for this weekend. I also plan on giving Def's sauces a try this weekend on...

    snack-food Fiery Habanero Doritos

Just goes to show ya, fiery foods are taking off like never before. I think they still need salsa / hot sauce for the heat but they have good flavor and leave a little tingle in your mouth as is.
