Chombo, my favourite variety to use on chilli-con-carne are choc habs, you've inspired me to try drying them this year! The best powder I have made so far was a combo of cayenne, poblano and yellow hab.

I would say a basic understanding is important for chilliheads. From growing conditions through to cooking what varieties are best for particular dishes/cuisine a basic knowledge will save any painfull experiences.

Looks like dead dehydrated aphids to me. After the neem give the plants a good wash down. TBH if your infestation is that bad I would say you might have to resort to......whiser it.....chemical!

Mate, dry them or use fresh - I wouldn't bother freezing cayenne(unless you were going to dry them later). They are great dried, though either in their own as a powder or use to bulk out other powders. Nice crop though - good buzz when you get a pile, eh? Oh, and the jealousy-o-meter is high...

I made a couple of orders with Nicky's Nursery, I had no problem with service at all tbh. A packet of Beetroot seeds I got from them had awfull germination rates though, so I suspect old seeds but everything else was fine.

I had a cayenne like this last year. The 'lobes' dried out before the main pod had fully ripened.
