Yes. The seeds were harvested from bhut pods and TSM pods last year. Virtually all of the bhuts look like bhuts, and the scorps look like scorps. There are just two plants with fruits that look like these different ones. Ah, crap. Just remembered ... i got some free seeds from a super hot last...

Soil temp is more important than air temp, but still, you want to keep them cozy. I use a little space heater on an extension cord. Keeps mine around 60 degrees overnight.

I bought two bails of coir recently. I've read other less than favorable results about it, so I think I'm just going to till it into my garden soil. Should improve soil structure. I'll be using compost and compost tea for nutrition. Don't think the coir should hurt anything.

My bhuts always seem to take longer to germinate than other pepper varieties. I would be leery of eBay, as others have said. I can testify to the quality and service of Old Barn Nursery myself. I would bet other vendors who post here regularly are good as well.

Did you soak the pellets for 15 minutes before use, then drain off the extra water? If they were like cement in the middle, it sounds like they were never fully hydrated.

Ok, yeah, call it smoked jalapeño/datil sauce. I converted an old propane grill to a smoker, moving the side burner underneath it. There is just not enough of a seal to keep smoke in and temp up. It runs around 110 degrees. I need to get some gasket material like the kind used on oven doors...

I used apple wood in a home made lp smoker. You can tell by the still bright red color that they didn't smoke long enough, but I had to take them off -- just ran out of time, and the smoker isn't quite perfected yet. There is still a very strong, smokey flavor though.

I use the spice packet and crush a dried cayenne pepper to throw in. I've also done some dried Japones. I have other dried pods I haven't tried including datil and red Jaimaican.

I much prefer ripe red ones over green. When the first frost approaches, I end up with a mix of red and green, and they pickle nicely together. Very pretty in the jar too.

Well, what you see in the pics is what I used, plus a little water. I didn't really measure anything :( I didn't use all the peppers shown either, probably about 3/4 of them. Was pretty heavy on the brown sugar. I added spices until it started to smell like pumpkin pie. Sorry it's so sketchy.

Mark this as an experiment gone right! I got the idea in the spring and planted my garden accordingly. Ghost peppers, pumpkin habaneros, and pumpkins. My pumpkin plants died, so I had to go with canned, but the result is quite good... Tastes a lot like a bite of pumpkin pie, then some...
