This is my first year with serranos, am I not supposed to let the peppers get very big? Plus if I let the peppers go red for chili powder, will they keep producing? I am actually quite glad to have these, my first Jalapeños have zero heat due to the cool nonstop rainy weather. It has been in the eighties this weekend so hopefully they will improve.D3monic said:

I would share a pic of my first decent haul, but my husband said the fridge wasn't cold enough.... Sigh.... Down the disposal they went. Was gonna dehydrate tonight too.
But I did enjoy everyone else's hauls.

From top to bottom left to right.
Chocolate BBG7, Ice Scream, Burkina Yellow, 7 Pot SR Gigantic Chocoalte, Chocolate Devil's Tongue
White Devil's Tongue, Mako Kokoo, Scorpanero, Chocolate Mystery, Not Chocolate Barrackpore
Not Brazilian Ghost, Kraken Scorpion, Billy Goat, Lava, White Fatalii
Not 7 Pot Orange, Arkanasas Peach(Red), Yellow Brain Strain, Niranaja Picante Habanero, Madballz 7 Not?
Can't complain really. Most so far were free seeds so I'll never complain about that. The brazilian ghost was a cheap purchase on Ebay, but the seller was clear that they were not isolated so I knew what I was getting into. The other plant from same seeds is looking more legit. But that cross is actually not bad, its taste is pretty good and much milder than a typical ghost of any kind which is kinda nice given how much heat I have going this year, more than I can handle. The madballz 7 there I am assuming is a not, seems way to smooth for what I was expecting, I think they are normally chocolate also. Hell on some of these I won't even be sure have so many new ones going. That not 7 pot orange, is way to mild to be a 7 pot and color too yellow I think, but its a damn good pepper. Pods are huge, plant is tiny but loaded with pods. Its really good, something I might try to save and see if I can get some to grow like it again. I have 3 plants from same seed stock all looking identical.D3monic said:

Save me some seeds from that lava and the ice scream for our fall trade.

They are small and pack a nice heat for me, without the pain of larger pods. We had friends over on the 4th of July and I handed those out to a few people who like hot stuff and they were quite surprised by them.

First row: Trinidad Scorpion Moruga, Inca Red Drop, White Bullet Hab, unknown cool cross from seeds from Juanito (supposed to be White Hab)
Second row: Golden Cayenne, Devil's Tongue, Not Dragon Cayenne, Aji Colorado
Third row: Mini Piperka, Bahamian Goat, Caribbean Red Hab, Devil's Heart

Very tasty little pods with a nice manageable heat level. Sort of a mild searing heat that goes away after a minute. Makes an excellent pepper jelly that is enjoyable by not just chile heads. Really good on burgers and in salads. They smell amazing in the dehydrator. Might try a fruit leather with some of these.
I grew three out to full size this year as the last few years they have been in high demand from friends and family. Each plant produces very nicely. Have probably harvested 500 pods so far among them. They were the quickest to germinate, fastest to maturity aside from the cherry tomatoes.

Those golden cayenne are beautiful peppers. I can't believe I didn't grow any this year.
