Did ya do it 5*? 5*? Yoo hoo 5*. Oh shit I think he's dead. Oh no oh no oh no oh no oh no........fffiiivvveeee ssstttaaarrrr are you dead?

I'm happy, I think, to say the Cappy 7 Pot "Brain Strain" is beginning to show itself in my pepper patch. Sad too as I'm going to miss 5*. Got two of the plants growing. This one is doing OK but the second one is dropping every single flower right after the flower opens. Any ideas?

Here they come.......

Feel like a kid in a candy store with $500 in my pocket and no adults around.:)

Nope. Not dead, but I did just eat a very small piece of this monster, and it made me wish I was dead for about 15 minutes. Here's the first pods picked from these demons. Now I have to figure out what the hell to do with them!

Anyone made flakes or powder with this strain? I just popped what was left of this pod after eating a few slices with cheese and crackers onto the dehydrator, and it's already stinking up the room :onfire:

This one looks VERY scary. These all are forming crazy looking tails for me....

Inside the pod... These things are solid placenta inside, with placenta lining every bit of the pod walls. Completely white inside, with a nice juiicy coating of Cap. Crazy..

Here's a pic showing the size of the first bite I took. This thing BURNED like I've never experienced. I think a piece this size burned about like a a quarter or maybe even half of a fresh orange hab. Burned all the way down the belly, and after a few more slices on cheese crackers, I actually caught a nice buzz.

The flavor is very fruity, and has a flavor very much like the Fatalii/Choc Hab cross I've got going.

You really only took a baby bite Five*, what you going to do with the other 98% of that pod. They are best used as a kicker in your sauces, but just one or two 7 Pods per batch. No way to really eat these evil chilis in everyday life. I have made 7 powder and it is also blistering hot. I believe we are in possession of the world hottest chili as nothing I've tried even comes close. Think it might take you a month to eat your first brain strain like it did bigt? Nice pics with the pods cut in half, seen that somewhere.:)

Look everybody....five's alive!!!

Was it really that bad dude? I think I'm going to sit and watch this one for a while.

BWAHAHAHAH! Thanks PRF. Yup, stole the piccy style from you, since I have knives sharp enough to cut them stem and all

But yea, that first bit was a tiny one. I'd been hearing all this stuff about how God-forsaken hot they were, I didn't want to end up puking or something poppin a quarter of one in my mouth. They definitely are the hottest thing I've ever eaten, Bhuts included. That tiny piece even took me by surprise a bit. I did venture into bigger slices later, and managed to finish the half pod by sundown. These are pretty much pure heat though, so not one to snack on. Definitely a saucer though, and would be a great puree for adding heat by the drop!

Thanx again for the seed PRF. This is quite the pod! I've noticed quite a bit of pod variation from plant to plant too, which makes me wonder about the stability of this variety. There are lots of pods on one plant in particular that maintain the brainey shape and texture, but seem to be more stubby with thick tails, while my other two plants seem to be more pointy. They're all the same heat though, and flavor as well.

I've yet to taste a 7 pot so I cannot say but is it possible the harshness of the heat makes it seem like it's hotter than a Bhut? Many of the people who have tried a 7 pot say the Bhut has much more flavor.

I wonder what it costs to have a pepper run through HPLC testing? Cappy I'd be willing to kick in a few to help get your Brain Strain tested.

Hey now, lighten up. I ate that thing easily in a week.

My brain strain 7 Pods are really starting to show her bumps early this fall. The are some of the bumpier pods I've seen so far in 2009. I open them up to get some more shots of the placenta, really strong capsaisin smell that fills the house. Really striking beautiful chile on top of the searing heat makes it a must have in your garden.

Continued....

Oh those mild little pods...c'mon? :hell: Gosh, those look evil. :) Nice work.

Close call between those and the Primo 7 pot peppers. Those are absolutely insane looks wise too. Unique and hellish.

Chris

Four of the five 7 pot plants I have are in this photo. The two suspected "Brain Strain" plants are on the end. They've put on a growth spurt with the slightly cooler weather and have started headed skyward.

Getting tall.

Here's a pod from one of them:

And here's one from the other one. Now I'm starting to get scared. Look at it, it's ripening. Oh shit.

Definitely a brain strain 7 Pod in the first pic patrick!:woohoo: The half ripe pod looks like one of mine too but keep the seed only from the most true pods please. Really crisp clear pic that green patrick brain strain 7 Pod! It won't be long now and you will HAVE to eat one.:mouthonfire:

Will do Cappy. Both plants look identical. There are a couple more green ones on the second plant that are just as bumpy as the first green one. As far as the other I wanted to show one that was ripening and that was the only one. Right now there are three on the first plant and two possibly three on the second that look downright pissed. I'm half scared to walk over to that corner of my "garden".

I am not looking forward to eating this pepper. Hell I don't want to eat a picture of this pepper.

Be careful Patrick...the BS are scary hot...
