An undersized lingcod from late last year. It was so pretty I had to get a pic before releasing it.

Blue ones are pretty rare, even their meat is blue.

Out on the ice for another shot at some lakers, caught a few, nothing of size though. Great day all round, temps were perfect at -5 & fishing was looking up until one dude pulls out a Banana......a F^%&ING BANANA!!! day went to shit after that (not really)

Then a few minutes later a second slightly bigger one would hit the ice

Was out on Lady Simcoe yesterday hunting shallow whitefish, didn't find any of those guy's but did put a pounding on Cisco's though. Never caught these guy's before & can say it won't be the last. Man these fish put up a great fight. Our regs allow for 2 keepers (which is a good thing) I don't know why anyone would waste their time catching perch unless it was a feast they were after. Most caught were about 1-1.5lbs the odd one was over 2lbs

That's my favorite type of fishing right there. Beautiful Browns & Brookies man, can't wait till season opener
Browns are such a difficult one to catch in these little gin clear freestone and limestone runs. You can't get within 35 feet or they are gone.

I don't even like to trout fish but it is fun to hike 2 miles into the woods and not see any assholes. We get so much rain anymore that the rivers are blown out from April until mid-July. These runs clean up in a day tops.

Was at a local charity derby on the past weekend. Target was Lakers however there is a slot size on this lake so quite a few would be sent back down the hole. My buddy was the only person to record a over the slot fish with a beauty 6.10 lbs the rest of us were battling for the under slot title. I was leading at one point but the boy's over at the weigh in who'd been up all night partying eventually messed up mine & who knows who else's score, but really who cares it would have all gone back to the charity anyway, just a awesome day all round. Went 6 for 7 loosing one that felt more like a Walleye than a Laker but never saw the fish so who knows.

Kept all fish alive in buckets/totes to be released after weigh in, blasting back to the weigh in (3km away) on a skidoo was interesting

Made it to a couple of lakes on the weekend, still decent ice to be found even with the warming trend these past weeks. Thought it would wrap the hard water season but there may still be a few weeks left as things are cooling down the next little bit.

Laid a beating on Lakers although nothing bigger than a couple of pounds, a few small Walleye came to play as well. Unfortunately for the Walleye coming up from 60ft their air bladders were popping out so they were done
