Hey everyone. Just wanted to share some pics of all that you have helped me accomplish on my first grow season. This originally started as an experiment to see if it was possible to grow from store bought pods. I started January 12th with orange habaneros and some suspected Aji Rocoto seed straight off a salad plate in Ecuador. Enjoy

4 Habs culled from many planted out Jan. 12

Same four Habs split @ 8 weeks (Aji Rocoto in terra cotta beyond also @ 8 weeks)

3 of 4 Suspected Golden Habs @ 137 days (today) each with pods hiding somewhere. The 4th was severely attacked by something Neem oil took care of.[I'm thinking it was mites] It's still alive trying to catch up.

This flower and many others have fallen off. One set fruit but that got knocked off when potting up @ day 122. Big dummy!

So here's the grow list as it sits today:

6 Orange (or Golden) Habaneros (added 3 more to the first group and they are almost as big!)
4 Aji Rocoto (added 3 more, but I think 2 will find other homes as gifts)
4 Tabasco
3 Red Bell peppers (I consider these my novelty peppers... why grow them?)
3 Serrano
2 Jalapeno
2 California Chili (from a bag of dried chilies... really didn't think this would work)

And the failures due to unripe fruit?
Poblano
Cubanelle

Obviously I don't know specifics of seed strain, etc... I went about this first grow year like one goes about buying a Jeep; you buy stock and [can't] wait for things to break or wear out so you can upgrade.;)

one leaf appears wilted in the last pic...you may want to look at that before posting. Bad form! jk
The aji-R flower was impressive.

Seriously- lookin' good! Beautiful plants. What's your growing medium you're using in those pots?

FD4 - Embarrassed fo' show! I was hoping the 7" ref would distract.

Boutros - simple Scotts potting soil when they were potted up to the terra cotta's. I've seeded in MGro Palm and Cactus soil... not that these pics show it. These first guys just got whatever was left over in bags from the year before.
 
Phase II

The next phase was a little more organized. These seedling were started in MiracleGro Palm and Cactus soil. Germination dates for the habs were twice as fast.

I didn't think it was bad form at all. I thought the pic was to show the distorted leaf next to a really long one.:shocked:

I was concerned about that leaf distortion a couple of days ago since more than a few leaves looked like that. However, this plant seems to have outgrown whatever was causing it. I'm suspecting spider mites(?), but I've never seen them. Any thoughts?
 
That orange/golden hab pod looks like a hybrid, but hopefully a good one. Did they look like that where you got them from?

If I'm remembering right, they were bright orange with nice flowing wrinkles of smooth skin. These pods seem more lumpy... but there are others on the same plant that could fit the parent's look. I could have accidentally crossed with one of the other plants. I seem to recall Jalabaneros being intriguing...

Seriously, these little guys won't do anything to my plants, right?
 
Looks like maybe paddy straw mushrooms(Volvariella volvacea), but don't eat them without proper identification. They won't harm your plants
