What "we" sauce boy? Remember, there are a few of us pepper wussies lurking in dark corners.

Not that any of my normal friends consider me a pepper wussie, just my chilehead friends.

Do you know if your plant is a C. baccatum or a C. chinense? I've been looking for the peito de moca for years now so please save me a few seeds, even if it isn't.

I am not sure... Peito de moca is what in English?? I will save seeds for u

I think the name has something to do with a woman's chest or nipple but I'm not sure. The Chupetinha loosly translates to "little rubber nipple" or Pimenta de Bico meaning "Bird's beak"
What color are the flowers on yours?

The flowers are white.. I will take a pic...
They really look like rubber nipple... I was just calling them "Tops"...

A Chupetino at 150,000 SHU sounds nice. Trinidad has all the mysteries. I think something there just makes peppers hotter. :) The bell peppers probably rate around 50,000 SHU. Actually, that would be kind of neat if one existed with heat! Does it? :)

Versions without the "anti-cap gene" do exist. ;)

Since bells are Capsicum genus, they should cross with one of the genus' we grow.

Why not try to make a Hybrid?

There is a single gene in peppers responsible for the heat and low capsaicin content is dominant over high capsaicin, so producing a stable cross might be difficult.

Agree with you Potawie, but it is worth a shot isn't it? Have you heard of anyone that has developed a "warm" bell pepper?

I plan to taking my different Pods to Trinidad CARDI... to get them tested... So I will post my acurate Data... But I have had some 'wiri wiri' and my 'Chupetino' has same heat... I think it has ALL to do with the climate here dat makes it so HOT...

From what I've read, I believe there is one version with no heat and one with mild heat. My seeds originated from a friend in Brazil who reported also that they had no heat

I finally have some Trinidad lanterns(little pears) growing. They look so yummy, I just can't wait till they ripen to try them
