Wow, Scott, Bonnet pods getting ready to color up!

Nice pics of your harvest. I love all the colors of the
various pods. What is the long, orange pod in the
third pic down? It looks just like the pods on my
orange Chocolate BJ.
im really digging all the colors.

its a roulette, supposed to be a heatless habanero.  haven't tried it yet.

im really excited about the scotch bonnets. I believe I've got four different types growing. these are the first to produce.

small tragedy struck. damn bugs got to my first two ripe scotch bonnets. :censored:   I was so mad to see them damaged and almost ready to try. sprayed neem oil again all over. I hope that helps the next set growing. :flamethrower:

Sorry to hear that. Stinkin' bugs ruining the best part of growing peppers. The consumption of the very first homegrown pepper of any particular type is an existential experience. It's a ritual I cherish.

I'm growing this ''heatless habanero'' aswell.. Mine are so called NuMex Suave orange. They're suppost to have about 850 SHU..They taste nice tho, more or less exactly as habaneros.

its heartbreaking, esp because these were some I really wanted to try.

I work with a guy from Jamaica and I wanted to surprise him with some fresh ones. he hates the hot peppers we have here commercially because theyre not up to the level he is used to in flavor and heat.

ive seen those but haven't had them. the kind im growing don't seem to have any heat. they taste and smell pretty close.

still fighting some blossom end rot on the larger peppers and tomato's.

going to order some cal-mag hoping it helps.

I use the calmag for the maters, and for grins apply it to the peppers. 1tsp per gallon in a watering can and drench the plant in the morning (early), twice a week.

Problem goes away. Watering with it is not nearly as effective in my garden. This is best done before the problem shows up...whoops :shh:

Edit:

Impressive harvests!

114° ? WTF????

Yea I talked to dwb and he suggested it. I ordered it yesterday. So Ill apply it ASAP. I can pick whats on them now and spray the plants really well hoping the next batch will be better.

Its some crazy heat wave and the heat index makes it insane. Ive avoided being outside as
Much as possible. Lol

Im pretty happy with most of the plants so far. Ive been getting some really nice pods. Still many more to
Come!

We're having a cold front. It gave us 3" of rain in 4 hours this afternoon. But here's the good part. If I have any flowers left after the rain, they should set a bunch of fruit because it's supposed to go down into the SIXTIES for low temps for a few days!

the heat wave ended and the temps dropped down the low 80s! lol we also got a full day and lots of rain.

im hoping for the same result on setting pods. lets cross our fingers and hope for the best.

Looks like the heat has really got the pods into
full ripening mode, Scott! Very impressive harvests,
some great phenotypes showing up there.

you could be on to something there.  everyone except the lemon drop seemed to do well.  of course a lot had flower drop but what was already growing moved faster.

the bonnets and habanero are starting to produce well.

its been a rough few days, my brother lost his battle with cancer at 55 years young.  tried to keep busy in the garden to clear my mind a little.
