Last night I tried the new tap of single hop Motueka (Crush it! Motueka), and realized, I don't love that hop alone, but the Motueka+Galaxy is superb. It was good but needed the brightening of the Galaxy, but it is crushable!

It is definitely a dessert beer, with lots of residual sweetness from what I assume is unfermentable lactose additions. When I poured the glass it was like opening a fresh coconut. My whole kitchen had a coconut aroma.t0mato said:Â

That beer did look damn good.Â
Agreed! It is now mainly owned by Inbev, which probably resulted in me abandoning it years ago, even though I didn't pay much attention at that time to macro takeovers, and the reason a go to beer of mine started tasting like shit. The Hot Pepper said:That stuff is swill. Isn't is made by Bud or whatever In-Bev?
Red Hook's old-formula ESB was 'the beer' for them ...Thegreenchilemonster said:A bit of a throwback with this IPA that I used to drink on the daily 8 years or so ago. I got a bad batch back in 2011, and sent an e-mail to Red Hook about it, but they never responded. I stopped drinking it completely. It seems like the recipe has changed a bit since I last drank it 6 or so years ago, and not for the better. I slammed it while working on dinner, with what I like to call the milk chocolate of sausages.
It definitely was. I can't imagine how bad that one has become in the past 6-7 years.grantmichaels said:Red Hook's old-formula ESB was 'the beer' for them ...
