The best part is that she fully supports my brewing as long as I make some beer she likes.

Which is why next weekend I hope to brew an IPA and a coffee porter of some kind.

Middle of the road beer for me. Taste nothing like its name.

 
Is there a toasty nuttiness with a hint of cocoa? That's what I would expect, you can't be too literal with some of these gimmicky/marketing names...

Not really sure if I would call it that…but it definitely has improved the longer it sits.  I am starting to pick up more flavors.  I definitely am getting hints of cocoa.

OB Hot box landed here today. Wish I would of known when I was at the beer store earlier. Got my Stormy and I was out..

As a rule though, I find dark beers to be really, REALLY astringent when they are straight outta the fridge ...
 
Perhaps especially because I store them on my top shelf, but yeah, I typically don't hurry to drink it until 5 mins or so after I take the pictures ...
 
Crack bottle and take a whiff, pour into the glass, photograph, swirl and sniff the head a bit, set it down to rest while I process the pics, and then I wrap up with a lacing shot if it exists ...
 
... and then I sip it.
