Sipping on this one right now, from "Sloop" Brewery in NY. I heard about this place while talking to a guy in line at Tree House, one day. It's just under 2 hours from here, right about where the CT, MA, and NY borders all meet. Guy said it was a "hidden gem" brewery that "nobody knows about," lol, and that they put out NEIPAs that are on par with Tree House and Trillium, so I was excited when I saw these at my local spot. I was even more excited when I saw that it was a NEIPA w/ lupulin!

Really tasty beer, though the lupulin is lacking. No "tongue sizzle". Hoping to see more from them popping up around here

After a brutal day at work today, I got home, and my wife surprised me with a bottle of this epic stout. She's the best!

"Our original Gingerbread Stout takes an initial transformation through months of aging in Kentucky bourbon barrels, reaching new levels of maturity with layers of vanilla, coconut, and toasted oak. Before bottling, the barrel aged stout is cold filtered through heaps of freshly cracked locally roasted coffee beans."

I scored a bottle last year, and it was one of the best beers of the year for me, and this batch is just as good. Best adjunct barrel aged stout I have had this year, hands down. You can't even tell it's over 11%. Perfect in every way.

Had this one last night. Pretty good flavor, but I'm not crazy about these "thin mouthfeel" stouts. It's like I wanna pour it into a pot and reduce it on my stove for a little while, then chill it again in the fridge, lol

Pro tip: only buy barrel aged then.
