BAHAHAHAHA!!! That’s EXACTLY what I did, Rick! 🤣 That PVC pipe that’s coming out from the bottom goes 2ft down into a (buried) 5 gallon bucket, filled with crushed stone, with holes in the bottom of it! There’s a swamp directly behind my house and the water table back there is literally only about a foot down from the surface. You should’ve seen what a total PITA it was, pouring the concrete into the 6 sonotubes for the piers for the shed, lol. I didn’t want to put the tubes in, then shovel the concrete directly in and try to displace the water, so I wrapped heavy duty garbage bags around the bottoms of the tubes and tried holding them underwater while I filled them. Freakin’ things were floating around like buoys in the ocean the whole time I was trying to backfill around them 😳 Trying to keep the centers lined up with the string lines I set up almost gave me a stroke  I think the whole neighborhood heard me screaming curse words that they didn’t even know existed that day 😉

Everybody’s always saying how great New England style IPAs from the Northeast are, myself included, but this one (from Fargo, ND) is right up there with the best of ‘em! Vic Secret is my favorite hop too! Thanks again, brother!

Ah Mike, so glad you like it. The Freak Parade is my favorite local so far. Doubles are somehow losing their status around here, a lot are being discontinued in favor of the whims of their saloon clientele, some weird shi' gettin' stocked. Yes, they dropped Freak Parade. Yet I campaign, yes?

I'm going to miss the locals here, they really get into competing with their neighbors. I'm told that a lot of the breweries where I'm going are "ok".

I hope not, I'm not OK with "ok".

It's that time of year again folks. Pumpkin beers are starting to hit the shelves. First one this year for me is "punkin ale" by Dogfish Head brewery. Setting the bar high in my opinion with this brown ale. It's smooth with a low bitterness. Quite balanced with subtle pumpkin and spice flavors. I'm a pretty big fan of pumpkin especially when they balance in nicely as they have done here. Highly recommend picking up a six-pack of this stuff. 7%abv

picture purge from last couple weeks

mini beer tour in Kitchener on last weekend of summer and down just outside of Montreal over this past weekend.

had to try the blackberry glitter beer because why not.

the clear counterpoint one is a Jamaican inspired Jackfruit and ginger . I actually could see it as a base for a cocktail instead of ginger beer.

the cloudy one below it is a Sour IPA with Raspberry, Rhubarb & Vanilla from Bellwoods.

the first lagabiere was flunk 2, second was cloches, not pictured but I also had a glass of aruca

only a couple picture of the different overhop beers l have cracked into so far.
they range from solid to outstanding , although I found out the hard way you need to start pouring the over juice immediately after cracking.

the exploding juice in the artwork turns out to be a funtional warning. lol

Damn Mike, I remember the old days, this place was a hole in the wall, they had a space about 12x12 lol, now they actually have the whole damn block, super huge brewery and tap room. I used to buy cans and send to friends, now, I am glad they are out there!

closer to Buffalo but would rather make a weekend trip to Rochester when the testing requirement to get back into Canada gets dropped.

molecular testing for non-essential is pretty expensive here, although I hear the Natt test isn't very expensive at pharmacies in New York State.

I am hoping new year will bring the Canadian requirements for fully vaxxed travel in line with USA.
