I started my seeds in early February and continued starting seeds until April...just couldn't stop starting new varieties...again. I always take the cheap route and use plain old Miracle-Gro potting soil. It has always worked for me. I also start my seeds in paper towels then transfer them straight to 4 inch pots (I thought they were 3 inch, but they're 4). I use a 125w CFL for lighting and I usually grow around 30 plants. Here's the beginning.

I had crappy soil before this pic and some of these are bare-root transplants. But I did lose one...Chocolate Primo. It just looked funky after transplant.

Here they were just before plant out. Pic taken on May 4...with the addition of a few new seedlings and maters.

Peppers planted out May 10.

Then I ran into the bugs. The flippin' bugs. Judging by the damage, I'm guessing broad mites.

But I soaped then neemed a couple times and things are looking up. I'll have to get a pic of what that plant (Goatsweed) looks like now. This is the latest pic with the addition of the nursery veggies.

That'll probably do it for now. Thanks for stopping by!

Great stuff going on here, Adam!

You have more heat in your grow than I could handle  :fireball:

Thank you very much, Paul! Too much heat for me, too. If only there were people closer to me to share with. Lol

Here's a Brown Rocoto. I finally have more than one pod on here.

And a pretty neat pic of Aji Oro if you zoom in. Lots of pods on this.

I feel your pain, there, my friend.  My honey doesn't like hot food,
so I rarely get to eat it at home.  Fortunately, I have a couple of
neighbors who like it, so I make poppers and stuffers once in a while.

I put hot powder on my meals, but it's just not the same as cooking
with the pods.  Every time I look at Essigi's grow log, I feel jealous.
His foodies are deluxe! Ditto Stickman!

Adam
pulled the first Hainan Yellow Lantern , done the whole pod , got a nice citrus taste , slight floral taste but not overwhelming , slight tongue burn , heat is same as a bonnet maybe less, be a great pepper for salsa or liven up a coleslaw .
Definately worth a grow buddy. Be good producers in your climate.

I hear ya, there. Nothing like fresh pods! I have new neighbors, so maybe they'll try one. Probably only one. Lol. But yes! Some great looking food around this forum!

Thank you for the review, Sim! Sounds awesome fresh! Maybe in a ceviche? Definitely sounds like a great addition to my garden. Thanks!

Superb looking pod Adam and nice colour, reminds me very much of Matthews Wartryx.
Good job buddy, nailed it. [emoji106]

Thank you, Sim! I think the same thing. SB7J & Wartryx do look alike. Very excited to try Wartryx next season.

I've finally gotten a decent "harvest" from one of my German Pink tomato plants. I normally get one or two...or none. This is a lot for me. There was one more, but that went to BLT's. Lol.

The super hot beast and wartryx that were labeled in my box looked the same, there were two unlabeled peppers that looked like them too. If they weren't labeled you wouldn't have been able to tell them apart
That's very interesting. Do we know the parentage of Superhot Beast?

I pulled my first pod off of plant #4 of 7 Pot Cinder (BBM x Madballz). It has thinner walls and feels lighter than the pods on plant #3.

It's pretty oily.

I'm not good with flavor identification, so the only flavor I got was fruity. No sweetness, just fruity. It's pretty darn hot, too. A smooth, oven-type burn...if that makes sense. It's not prickly or stingy. But it has an incredible delay on it. But with that, you get to enjoy the flavor a little bit before the fire starts.
