Capsidadburn grow 2012

Outside in my backyard are the remains of my 2011 season carcass sprawling all over the backyard. It is ugly! It needs to be reanimated and made ready for my 2012 season within 2 months.

Inside of course the season has began all over again. I am very pleased to say that I am only germinating 36 variety's so far this year. That is down 75 from last year. Pending some trades arrival from Finland, (7 more), that will be all. I have managed to keep myself out of the marketplace where the seeds tend to flow like white water rapids.

Here is my germ list for 2012;

Made some Hatch green chile sauce this evening. Could have used a couple more hatch chile's but added a couple Zapotec Jals. Used this recipe;

Looks delicious!!! Did you process in a boiling water bath, or are you just storing it in the fridge? I looked all over for a canning safe green chile recipe last year, but never found what I was looking for. When I make it fresh I use a similar recipe to yours, except mine has tomatillos in it too.

Thanks! Yes Bonnie it is boiled 10 minutes. These wont last long though. I have some chicken calling to me for Fathers day which also happens to be my wife's birthday.

I hope to harvest some pods today as well as brewing tea.

Thanks Eric and HabaneroHead!

Father's day continues; Surprized my wife (her birthday) this morning with some white wicker furniture for our back porch. I also pickled some Beni highlands peppers too. I'll post a pic in a few. I really miss eating hot dogs at will, but my doc say's no until I can turn my numbers around. I love pickled peppers on a dog. I am anticipating good marks from the doc next month. In fact next week I will be pickling more, but different.

I also drove to Pflugerville to check on some wild plums. I picked some but need more and wanted to photograph a bloom but there were none. Hopefully a good rain will come and I can get one more picking this season.

I had a nice nap today after I marinaded some chicken. Time to open the Hatch green chile sauce tonight!

Be back later
Mike

Mike,

Just browsed the last several pages of your thread—WOW! What an awesome grow! And, as always, the photography is world-class.

Congrats on a killer grow!

Gary

Thanks everybody! I'm blushing a little from all the adoration! Now I feel like I have to go do something worthy of.

Very kind folks :P

Thank you Mgold and Kiddc. Much appreciated!

Well I had a half inch of rain yesterday which is very cool! There are a few 100 degree days ahead in the 7 day forecast. I am trying to finish my last shade structure for my newest raised bed. I may or may not try and cover the rest of the first year plants. I think I am going to build a temporary isolation box with materials on hand to see how it goes this season, and construct something better for next season. "Bagging the blooms" is always difficult in the heat and easier (more successful) in the fall. I would like to get isolated seeds sooner than at the big harvest times of fall.

Happy first day of summer folks!

Mike

The weekend has arrived people. Time to get some garden time in. Got to finish a shade screen this weekend. Good harvest tomorrow and some pickling either tomorrow or Sunday. Had maybe 3/4's of an inch of rain in the last week, yaay!
