Compmodder26's 2012 Grow Log - New Video Update

So I just finalized my grow list for 2012, aka my first attempt at growing peppers. I'm starting out relatively small for my first time, although it has been tough trying to narrow them down thanks to Jamie (romy6) and his extreme generosity. But at any rate here is what I plan to grow:

Red Bhut Jolokia - 1
7 Pot Jonah - 1
Naga Morich - 2
Brain Strain - 2
TS Butch T - 2
Chocolate Bhut Jolokia - 1
Yellow Fatalii - 1

So that's a total of 10 plants and 7 varieties. I'll be starting at the first of the year.

Wish me luck!

Edit: Hehe, I just posted this and I'm already changing it up. I decided that since I'm growing 2 naga morich, they are supposed to be similar to bhuts so I dropped 1 red bhut and added 1 7 pot jonah

Lookin good Compmodder!
Your plants are way ahead of mine. I have a few plants that are flowering as well and one Banana Pepper plant with a single pod on it.

Update time. Quite a bit has happened since the last update. I now have two pods forming on the banana pepper plant. I have a flower on the smallest bell pepper plant and another one about to open on the bigger bell pepper. I also installed a drip irrigation system with a fertilizer injector.

Here's a pic of the drip system:

Looking good Brian. Your plants have exploded with growth. Can't wait to see some supers forming :onfire:

Great call on the dripworks!! Keep up the great work

Thanks Jamie! I'm amazed at how much they've grown in just a week. Like I said before, they LOVED the 90 degree weather we had last weekend/early this week.

Those root pouches are doing good for you as well I see. I was hesitant to try them out, but my plants love them and it looks as though yours do as well.

Peppers are looking great! I think I bought that same timer for my plot at the community garden. I don't have the cool fertilizer thingy though ...

Oh, BTW, those zucchini plants will probably get twice that size before they are done growing. :)

But what about your morning glory from earlier!?! How is that doing? :) I do really want to know.
Looking great!

It's doing well. I have a piece of twine that I have strung between two nails on a fence post that it is climbing up. I'll get a pic of it on here soon. It is starting to put off quite a few flowers.

Thanks! That could be a problem with the zucchini. Both plants are already overstepping their bounds. They're invading the peas. Will definitely have to rethink the location for them next year.

your supers are so bushy and nice...hows the root pouches working for you?

The root pouches are great. I highly recommend them. They allow the plants to be very forgiving of overwatering. Actually I've found that the plants thrive on a good soaking with these pots. That is these pots strength and weakness at the same time. The soil gets dry very quickly on a 85+ degree day.

Well done!!! Your plants are looking excellent!!! Also congrats on first pods!!! Super hot pods are around the corner for you!!! I too have my first pods on my bigger Bhut plant!

Thanks Jon. Yeah I'm starting to get some buds that are about to open to flowers on my Naga Morich, Yellow 7 Pot and 7 Pot Jonah plants. So hopefully I get some podage here in the next couple of weeks.

You're getting dialed in brother! They're really starting to take off!

Thanks Shane. You are correct, they are indeed starting to take off. Getting a bunch of growth coming out of them in a short period of time.

I was looking over my plants this morning and noticed a tiny little Praying Mantis on one of my Bells. I wanted to take a pic, but my crappy camera couldn't focus on it. Hopefully it'll stick around.

Also got another open flower on the Banana and three more about to open any time now. Got quite a few buds about to open on my supers too. Hopefully I'll be getting pods really soon!

Woohoo!! Got open flowers on a Naga Morich. Hopefully they turn into pods as easy as the Bananas did. Got three open flowers on the Naga Morich. A bunch of buds that will open VERY soon on it and a 7 Pot Jonah and the Yellow 7. Getting more open flowers on the Banana as well. And the Bells are about to get more open flowers. Sorry for the blurry pics, crappy camera again.

Way ahead of the game my man! Won't be long and the supers'll start showing you some love!

I sure hope so. Since I began this grow, I've had it in my head that I want to be able to start harvesting peppers in July. So hopefully I'm still on schedule to do that. Thanks Shane!

Yeah, they do love them. I love how inexpensive they are too.
Glad to see you are having success with them. Those plants you
have in the root pouches look really great.
I'm excited to try some out in a couple of weeks at next plant out.
