craft beer

Been sipping on this for the last 30 minutes or so.  I don't care for bourbon much, so I don't care for the bourbon aged taste much either but underneath the bourbon smell and flavor there appears to be a pretty good imperial stout.  I get a lot of chocolate/vanilla/caramel notes and it's pretty smooth and creamy.  Hopefully I'll get to try the non bourbon barrel aged version sometime.

Sorry you had to try the Kingpin and Pranqster.  I'm also sorry you missed the Chocolate Stout but it sounds like you had a good time.  Actually the Pranqster might be okay if you like Belgian ales.  I've never had the one in your second pic but don't mind a good red ale.  Old Rasputin is a fine beer.

I DONT DRINK LIKE THIS TOO OFTEN BUT I KILLED THAT 6 OF RESURRECTION

it one of the best brews i have ever had!!

two words
 TRY IT!!

if you like Belgian triples this one will amaze you

thanks your friend Joe

Sipping on this now.  Have like 20 new beers to try and sadly this is the only stout of the bunch!  Anyway it's okay... tastes like coffee but as far as coffee beers go it's nothing I'd seek out again.  I'd much rather have a Santa Fe Java Imperial Stout, Stone Imperial Russian Stout w/espresso, Big Sky Cowboy Coffee Porter, or even a Coronado Blue Bridge Coffee Stout.

I've posted this before (at least once) but this Stone Enjoy By is good stuff.  Might be my favorite IPA which sucks because it's hard to get.  I think I've had 5 or 6 releases of it so far.  Finally it will be back in NM with the "08.02.14" release.

EDIT: It will be back with 08.02.13, not 14.  Wouldn't care much if it was over a year away.

BTW it's not cloudy/opaque... that's just condensation on the glass.

Went to a Dogfish Head takeover last night at a local pub.  I had a 90min, Theobroma, and Bitches Brew, and brought home a bottle of 75min. that came with a free shirt.

Had this last night.  For a lager it was surprisingly undisgusting.  Corn free too I imagine.

Tried these two tonight.  Preferred the Crystal Hero.  Also tried their Anti-Hero IPA last night and it was pretty good too.

it was perfect for the weather. very sessionable

I'm probably in the minority but I don't find anything particularly special about Arrogant Bastard.  I do like a lot of Stone's beers but I guess it's just not for me. Still hoping to make it out to the brewery on a California beer trip this summer.  The idea is to start in San Diego (Stone, Avery, Ballast Point etc.) and work our way north to Lagunitas.

i have a love hate thing going with AB so i totally get your point.
I think stone are one of the weaker SD breweries, but they have their moments and i love the branding

I'm glad many don't care for Arrogant Bastard because that leaves more for me. If I could only drink one beer for the rest of my life it would be AB hands down!

I'd be happy with Litttle Sumpin' from now till the end of me days...

Had this tonight.  It's from one of our local breweries so I doubt it's distributed beyond NM but it's pretty tasty.  Definitely a hoppy amber ale.  Almost a red IPA.  They also can and bottle a decent IPA and oatmeal stout, and a pilsner but I don't really do pilsners so no idea if it's good or not.

im about to try VICTORY "STORM KING" IMPERIAL STOUT

WONT BE TRYING IT TILL THURSDAY AFTERNOON SOMETIME

any thought on this one before i go into the great unknown? is it likable to you in your personal opinion??

beer advocate gave it a 92 but the bros only an 86   (hmm  ?) i dont always agree with them so i thought i would ask anyone who has had it

i love Stouts and Porters there my fav, i saw this one at the local shop and picked it up, i was off to get "something dark" and had myself resigned to the fact that it was prolly going to be Guinness (not such a bad thing) but got me a surprise in this one, i just didn't want the "wizzy yellow mill spew"
i wanna be careful though with this one dont like getting blasted and its over the usual ABV of around 6.5 i normally drink, this (ones 9.10 ABV) not too over the top however because the highest i have had so far and just one or two was around 11

any thoughts let me know

thanks your Friend Joe

Yes I read the "Victory" and got all excited thinking about Victory at Sea Imperial Porter from an entirely different brewer in a different state.  Thought I deleted it before anyone saw.   I still vote for drinking it warmer rather than colder.  Do the test and see.  Often a dark beer won't taste as good ice cold as it does a little warmer.  I think it's way past beer thirty for me.  Trying to decide between Stone Enjoy By 08.02.13 or Stone Ruinten.
