ipa in bouron barrels sounds gross as shit

So much rage! :P
Actually I agree it doesn't sound appealing but who knows. I saw some Stone collaboration IPA with coffee a couple weeks ago and immediately thought "yuck" but apparently it's really good.  Haven't tried it.  http://www.ratebeer.com/beer/aleman--two-brothers--stone-dayman-coffee-ipa/205484/

Wife got these in mail yesterday.  We already knew the Sculpin IPA was delicious and had some on the way from another source but this package was an unexpected gift. :P  I'm really looking forward to the Ballast Point Victory at Sea Coffee Vanilla Imperial Porter.  Porters and stouts are my favorite beers usually, and V@S is supposed to be a great one.

Had this last night.  Wife liked it, I didn't care for it as much.

I heard good things about the Heretic evil twin. Lemme know how that was.

I hope that shyte starts making it this way eventually.

I've heard good stuff about Heretic Evil Twin too.  And Shallow Grave.  And Evil Cousin.  Hopefully some will be on their way here in the next couple of weeks.

Bad ass. I should see about getting some shipped.  How much did shipping cost for all that right there?

Wife just has a friend in California that shipped it to us.  She does beer swaps with him.  Costs about a buck a pound to ship so it's not exactly cheap.  They normally ship via UPS or FedEx.  Most people would only ship a few bottles, not 7 22oz and 7 12oz bottles at once.

There are online places that ship.  A quick search should find you several.  We do our share of road trips to neighboring states to round up beers unavailable here too and it's the only way we'll get to try some beers because there's so many breweries with limited local distribution.  We have friends on both coasts and the selection varies quite a bit.  Makes me sad seeing a lot of California beers shipped right through New Mexico on their way east without dropping any off here.

EDIT: Cleaned up to sound like a god fearing law abiding citizen who would only break the speed limit if he was late for church or saving a child from danger.

I will Jeff.
You would love the store here called BevMo (Beverages and More it used to be called) as they have hundreds of different beers.

The ones I posted above were mostly purchased at a BevMo in Sacramento AFAIK.  We finally have a Total Wine & More here and they have hundreds of beers, but unfortunately not the ones we want. Clown Shoes is about the only craft brewery they brought with them... still haven't seen any Clown Shoes beers anywhere else here.  We only have three distributors in NM and I was hoping Total Wine had enough clout to strong arm at least one of them into bringing some of the Cali beers to us but no such luck.  There's a beer from Texas I absolutely love (Buried Hatchet Stout) but it doesn't make it to NM.  Too far away I guess

Probably common sense but at 35f this was bordering on unacceptable.  At 50f it transformed into a fine imperial porter.  Got lots of coffee out of it but virtually no vanilla.  Still it was delicious.

I am drinking the Heretic Evil Twin Red Ale right now and it is fantastic!
Reminds me a lot of Arrogant Bastard but after a few seconds in your mouth the flavor is different from AB as it is more fruity I guess? I love this beer!

my favourite beer at the moment. helped me out when i was repotting plants last night

It hurts me a little inside seeing a fresher bottle shipped around the world when mine was shipped a few hundred miles.  I know you mentioned a friend there that gets it shipped fresh and stouts and porters are often better with some age behind them but geez.  New Mexico is way closer to San Diego than Tokyo is. Oh well....

A few to try this weekend. I've had the Stone Russian Imperial Stout before but not the Dead Guy Ale or the Heretic Evil Twin.

the dead guy was good but i loved the Imperial Russian stout!!, never had the one in the middle

Currently drinking a Weyerbacher Heresy.  FYI the first Bourbon Barrel aged beer I ever came across.  Now all the rage.  8 or 10 years ago they were the only one.

Had this tonight.  Not bad at all but a little on the plain side for me.  Also, long bitter dry finish.  I said it before but I think Knee Deep is making some pretty good beers.

Joe, I really liked the Russian Imperial Stout this time. I guess the last time I tried it years ago I didn't care for it as much as I was not drinking good ales and a stout was heavy on my palate.
You should try the Heretic Evil Twin if you get a chance. It's very good and reminds me of Arrogant Bastard Ale which is considered by many as a world class beer.

i had the stone imperial the other day. not wonderful. i've had worse but i've had much better. it lacked complexity
