D3monic's 2015 Glog. Lots of Pods.

I had a great 2014 growing year and can't wait to get started on 2015. Had some issues with overwinters and aphids but I ditched them and nuked the basement. Here is last years Glog link

I just went through and cataloged my current seed list. Built up a bit of a collection over the course of the winter.

Edited seed list to just a drop box file on 1/31/15 CLICK HERE FOR SEED LIST If you have anything on my wanted list feel free to give me a shout.

I will keep this first page updated as I add things to the grow. Many still to get germinated.

I only use them for trimming and light duty work. I got heavy duty fiskars for bigger branches. I got like 5 or 6 pairs of the little ones.
why do they call them a pair when in reality their just one ?      :high:

Not forgetting a pair of gobbies ... beautiful fish ... you have a fascinating grow ... fish and all

+ 1 on the gobies, I haven't seen that particular variant, really beautiful colours.  Out of interest D3, what is the wattage on your LEDs?  I have a similar size grow tent space with a single 300w MARS hydro LED, seeing yours I wonder whether I need another one.

These are the models I have 240w each.. or at least what I would assume from 80 3w bulbs but i'm sure actual wattage could be less.  http://www.gothamhydroponics.com/featured-products/lighthouse-hydro-blackstar-240w-led-grow-light-uv.html

I have 4 all together and have used all 4 over a single plant before but that was 6' tall and about as wide so I had two on the sides and two over the top. Major overkill for peppers. I'm no LED expert but i've had great success with these. The tech keeps evolving to get better and better.

I even see a large number of people switching to LED on their reef tanks. Mine is LED but i'm not overly happy with it, The stock lighting on the nanocube LED pro seems to bleach SPS pretty bad. My LPS look great though.

I have a 5 foot cichlid tank, still running a bunch of T5's over it - it is an aqua one so the light is styled the same as the tank.  I had to replace the full ballast recently, and toyed with LEDs, sounds like the fluros were the right choice.  I might suck it and see with the single, I can always add another if the growth is spindly or the fruiting drops off.

Them bad boys looking sweet brother!

Thanks! they are getting tons of side growth and i'm going to have to start figuring something out so they aren't crowding eachother. I want to pot them up to one gallon pots but I also want to limit their growth a little since they got another two months before it's safe to plant them out.

I am on the same schedule as you, looking at another 2 months to plant out. This is my first time starting a large batch of plants from seed, I currently have just over 100 seedlings, of which I will probably have room for about 70 plants. Some are in solo cups, but most of them are in 4.5" square pots. I hoped to leave them in these until plant out, however tonight I checked a habanero I have in a solo cup and it was all roots. If I do not pot them up, which I really have no room to do, will they make it until dirt day?

They will survive, maybe not thrive and be stunted a little but they would survive. I'd just worry about them becoming root bound. I'm probably going to keep most of mine in 3" pots till plant out. Maybe the two older trays will go into 1gal pots. But I need $ before I can even do that.

Thanks D3. I guess I will let it ride. Should I cut back on the light? Currently have both T5's and T8's going 17 on 7 off.

Should be fine, I have mine on for 24 hours but recently reduced LEDs to only 10 so they get more blue spectrum from the t5. Thankfully peppers aren't like canna and won't be effected by reducing the light schedule if you decide to.

Mine are maxed crowded as it is and rootbound to boot. I got flowers galore going on. and my light schedule is 16/8. Using 6" square pots. I'm really wanting to hold back on transplanting for the moment if I can help it, I'm looking at another 6 weeks to be safe for plant out. But, with this crazy weather we have it maybe sooner. Cheers Pal!

Goodluck, i'm already getting tomatoes on the pineapple ground cherries. I was trying to pick the flowers off but gave up. Hopefully your weather works out good for you. I wanted to make hinged lids lined in clear plastic for my raised beds so I could get a earlier plant out. Mini greenhouses so to speak and would remove after it gets warmer. Money is holding me back atm but hopefully I can do it on one or two.
